Busy Week!

This has been a super busy week so far and I’m really glad it’s a short week! Can’t wait for tomorrow to be over, so I can finally relax and scrap! 😉

Anyway, Monday night I did my page for Week 3 of the ScrapOrchard CT contest. I have to say that even this week the kit was not my typical style (yes, again!), but I LOVE the page I did!

Yes, I really love this page. It’s totally my style and I loved playing with this kit!
I started out thinking I might try my hand at a fantasy LO, but that just isn’t my style: so I incorporated what I had done (the watercolor blue/green paper, tower and the princess) as a scene in my LO. 😉 So, yes, it turned out to be totally ‘me’: bright colors, pretty elements, journaling.. Maybe a bit too cluttered, but I love it. I really hope to pass this turn but I know it’s going to be super tough. The gallery is filled with amazing entries and I feel like I should have spent more time on my page to get a shot on making the cut.. But hey, that’s what I came up with, and I love it, and I hope it’s good enough!

Giveaways

I cannot resist entering a good giveaway, and there’s more than one out there! 🙂

Some hybrid goodies at Doodle Palace that I’m drooling over..

And some very cute projects at The Hybrid Chick too! I’m in love with these little mini albums by Mari Koegelenberg!!

Another Contest

I got through week 1 of the CT contest at ScrapOrchard, but when I saw the kit for Week 2 I got worried because it’s not my style of choice.. But I gave it a try and I’m SO glad I did: I love the page I did – totally my style! 😉
This page came together in no time: I downloaded the kit and started working on the LO last night before bedtime, and finished it this morning during breakfast! 😉

So, I really hope I make it to week 3: we’ll see! The didn’t cut too many people last week (we went from 130 to 99) so I’m expecting more cuts this week, since it’s a 4-week contest and we’re almost half-way through..
I’d love to stay in till the end, because I’m having much more fun than I anticipated!!

Vote for Me! :)

I’m playing in the CT contest at ScrapOrchard just for the fun of it, and after every week the community votes for their favorite page (yes, I do realize the grammar is way off in this sentence, but I’m not going back to correct it! LOL). The top 3 pages will be turned into QPs, and I realize that mine certainly isn’t very suited for that, but still.. if you want, do vote for me here! 😀

Voting is open until Saturday so don’t wait, do it now! 🙂

Something New

I’ve been scrapping for well over a year now, and I’ve never done a page without pictures (excluding the little hybrid albums, but those don’t count).. All this changed yesterday, thanks to the scraplift challenge at The DigiChick. The gallery of the scrapper we had to lift had many pages that didn’t have any picture, so I decided to try this out myself:

Well, I liked this so much, that I did another page! 😀 I did this page for the CT contest at ScrapOrchard, for which we had to use a beach kit. Since I don’t have any beach pictures, I didn’t have much choice.. 😉 So instead of using the beach kit for a non-beach LO, I did a beach page with no pictures. 🙂

Those little elements were so cute, and when I dragged them onto my page I got the idea of incorporating them in the journaling – I love how it turned out! 🙂

Whooops, I just realized I didn’t date my beach page!! 🙂 Will go back and add that in. 😉

BBQ Night

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny but cool day (my favorite kind of day!), so we decided to grill. It was great, and my mom really enjoyed it too. 😉

And tonight we’re trying a new, fancy restaurant. 🙂

Getting Ready

My mom is flying in tonight and will stay almost two weeks!! I’m so happy and I’ve been really looking forward to her visit!

This will mean I will have little or no time to scrap in the next couple of weeks, but I’ll be taking many pictures. 😉

Last night I grabbed Pamela Donnis’s new kit, Backyard BBQ, which is just perfect for my grill pictures! 😉

My Photoshop Elements has been really acting up since the latest update on my Mac. I started working on a page for a CT call last night but wasn’t able to save it.. :-S So, this morning during breakfast I finished it up and if it still convinces me, I’ll send it off this weekend. 😉

What a Scare!

Last night I finished working on my 2 pages for the May monthly summary. After saving them, I hit the Save for Web button and my Photoshop Elements crashed. Then, my computer crashed too, so I decided to go to bed. But this morning I had a horrible surprise: both my psd files were 10 MB of size and corrupted… :-S
After a few minutes of despair thinking I had to do both pages all over again, DH saved my day thanks to his backup system. He retrieved my files saved to almost the final version (I always save the file several times as I’m working on them and the final step that was missing in the backup version was only the addition of the flowers). So, I just added the flowers in again and my pages are safe and finished! Phew!!

I picked up this gorgeous collab by Erica Zane and Mari Koegelenberg at the 2 Dollar Tuesday at The DigiChick – what a steal! It’s such a gorgeous kit and I cannot wait to use more of it!!

I Am Not the Queen of Scrap..

.. and there’s no big surprise there (though I had hoped till the end I could somehow get enough votes for that).. but I did make Princess of Scrap!! 😀

This means I’ll guest CT at ScrapMatters for 1 month!!! *doing the happy dance*
Now, I just hope they give us June off because my mom is coming next week for 10 days and I know I won’t be scrapping much while she’s here!
