A couple months ago, I took the plunge and bought a manual die cutting machine. After considering the options (namely the Cuttlebug, which is smaller and less sturdy), I decided to get the Big Shot. My main motivation to buy it was to use it with wafer thin dies, but I also bought an embossing folder, just to try it out… and I have fallen in love with embossing!
I really love the results! Here are a few cards I made for my Project Life album.

I have been playing with creating a faux letterpress look. I just used some Hero Arts shadow inks for this card.

Hello and happy Wednesday! This is my favorite day of the working week, because it’s SOSN (Something Old, Something New) – 50% off selected products at The Lilypad. I love it because it’s the best way to grab some gorgeous products I missed when they first came out, and add some new ones too! Here’s what I made with today’s goodies.
Yes, I used a cleaning kit to make a page about a haircut. 😉
This gorgeous kit was from last July’s BYOC and I had not scrapped with it, I was so happy to do it now because it’s gorgeous!
I scrapped this week. Oh yes I scrapped. And I bet you will want to too, once you see the June BYOC at The Lilypad. :))
I really am not much for purple at all, but I’ve fallen in love with this BYOC!
Such a great mix of papers, elements, alphas and templates!
I also made a card for my MIL with the BYOC products by Sahlin Studio.
Next up, I have a page documenting a very special happening.
We have a robin nest on our deck, and we’ve been able to look at the progression. It’s just so sweet! The nest is quite high and we’ve only been able to sneak phone pictures there (sadly out of focus), but it was worth documenting! And this timeline template was just perfect!

Today is Wednesday – the middle of the week, and SOSN (Something Old, Something New) at The Lilypad. Select new and old products are 50% off today only. I picked one that is a classic, but for some reason I had never used it before.
This kit made me go and pull out this photo from three years ago, because it was a perfect match!
I love the pretty grass stamps included in the kit; I used them to create a border for the bottom of my page.
