Yay Me!

This week has been very rewarding for me scrapping-wise! It started off Monday when 2 (yes, two!) of my LOs were featured on the Daily Digi blog (this and this page): thanks to my friend Sunghee for letting me know!! ;). And then today I got a GSO on the GalleryStandouts blog for this page!

I am having another super crazy week at work (just sneaking in 10 minutes to write this post) and absolutely no free time. I had the idea for this page Sunday night and had been dying to scrap it since then! I’m off to a conference tomorrow and flying back next Sunday so I am doubly glad I squeezed in this page last night in half an hour between the laundry and dinner. 🙂
So I guess you want to hear more about the story? 😉 Well, our neighbor is a bit OCD about mowing his lawn. He mows it twice a week, which really is a bit too often. Of course, DH is quite the opposite: he mows it every 2 weeks, which is not quite often enough. 🙂 But our neighbor is so obsessive about his lawn that if my husband mows our lawn, than you can rest assured that the following day our neighbor will mow his, regardless of how tall his grass is. Anyway, Sunday we got home after Church and saw that our neighbor was mowing the lawn and had blown the leaves in our front lawn into a nice pile. He doesn’t have trees in the front, so all the leaves were coming from our trees. Since this was a pretty obvious hint, and since most of the work had been done already and all that was left to do was bag the leaves, I tried to convince DH to do it together. But he wouldn’t budge so I gave up – I wasn’t going to do it on my own. A couple hours later, said neighbor rang at the door: he said he had filled a couple bags with our leaves since he was already working in the garden and it didn’t take him long.
Now, seriously, this was embarassing. My husband even told him that he had been too busy to take care of it because he was leaving this week – but in fact he’s home all week! 🙂
But thinking back at it, this guy is really a bit weird for doing that! What do you think?
I have to add that their house is for sale so he obviously wants to make a good impression, but hey, it’s autumn, and leaves do fall. We already have a lot that have fallen since.
Anyway, that’s our story! 🙂

Last $2 Tuesday

I got the newsletter from the Digichick saying today’s is the last $2 Tuesday… so take advantage of it, because you don’t see often such a great deal! Look what Mari has for sale today:

I love the patterns of this kit! I wanted to use it to scrap this funny picture of DH so I did some easy recoloring:

Have a great Tuesday!

Shopping

I must say I am not a big fan of shopping. But when my mom comes to visit and we do go shopping, it’s always a fun time! And look at the new kit that Rachel of Captivated Visions has out (she’s a guest this month at ScrapMatters)! It makes me want to go shopping! 😀

The colors are so yummy!! As soon as I saw the kit I knew I wanted to use it, so I spent half an hour digging in my computer for some shopping pictures. 😉 I knew I had to have some since I’m so behing in scrapping my mom’s visit… and I did, from last year!

I did this for today’s Saturday Special challenge. The queen of shadows, Carly (snaggle7575) has revealed her secrets on shadowing, and I tried to follow her tips. What do you think of my shadows here? Do they look weird?

A Little Card and a Big Sale

Happy Tuesday everyone! Look what’s for sale for only $2 today:

This collab is gooooorgeous! 😉 I used it a while back for this frame that hangs in my living room, and this weekend I made this pretty little card with it:

So cute! And I’m getting more and more in love with my cutting machine every day! Yes, the flower on the left of the bracket is cut out too.

Sweet & Simple September

Gina Marie Huff has the new Sweet and Simple kit for September in her store at Weeds and Wildflowers, and I’m completely in love with it!!

The colors are sooooo pretty! I love all the gray with pops of pink, blue and green. So inspiring!
And the alphas and wordart… to die for!!

Here’s what I scrapped with it:

Yeah, it’s been a rough few weeks and I just needed to vent. Scrapping is great therapy! 🙂
Then I made another page about my mom’s visit back in May – I wonder if I will ever finish scrapping those pictures! 😉

This page is my favorite of the few pages I’ve done lately. I just love how the shadowing turned out!

#501

Well, it appears that this is my blog post #501. I never noticed the number of posts, but as I logged in to write this I noticed my blog had exactly 500 posts. 🙂
Anyway, I’m here to show you a gorgeous collab that is in the store today, by Rachel of Captivated Visions and Jenn Barrette:

This kit is just perfect for all of us who love digi!!

Back to School Anyone?

Today is Tuesday and it means Mari has a gorgeous kit for sale at the Digichick! It’s her Back 2 School collab with Mel Wilson:

I love this kit, it is seriously packed! I especially love all the papers.
And it worked great for recording the steps I achieved in my photography course too!

Rainy Monday

It’s a rainy Monday here (even though the sun was out when I got up, but quickly disappeared!) so I need to share some of my creations to get rid of the gloom. 🙂

First off, I scrapped another of those hard-to-scrap pictures, and once again I love the result! I used a gorgeous kit by Sahlin Studio that was just perfect for this:

I also used some Sahlin Studio goodies to create these book labels, just a little organizational tip featured in the September newsletter of ScrapMatters.

If you aren’t signed up to the SM newsletter yet, you can do sign up right here. There’s a great free kit every month, plus nice tips and articles, including a hybrid tutorial by yours truly. 🙂 Can’t miss it! 😉

Brittishdesigns.com

You may have noticed that Britt of Britt-ish Designs doesn’t sell at ScrapMatters anymore: she has opened her own store at brittishdesigns.com! She is one of my 3 fave designers and I miss her, but I have still been scrapping with some of her goodies lately. This is the delicious and gorgeous cake DH baked for my birthday:

Yum! And here’s a picture I took last Saturday on a photowalk – I took some shots I’m really happy about and I love how this page turned out.

I usually have a very hard time scrapping great pictures but this time I’m very happy with the result. 🙂

I made another page for my art journal last weekend using some Polka Dot Plum goodies. 🙂
