I’m here to show off two pages from last week that I’m very proud of. The gorgeous kits at ScrapMatters really inspire me!! πŸ™‚

I have one more page from the weekend, I’ll post it later.

In the meantime, don’t forget to VOTE for the Big Pimpins here (see post below), today is the last day to vote so do it now! You don’t even have to be registered to vote, just click and you’re done!

All Is Quiet…

I know I haven’t posted much this week, but this doesn’t mean I haven’t been scrapping! πŸ˜‰
I just cannot show the pages just yet, but there’s one that I can show using the new collab by Mickey B Designs and Man in the Moon Designs, out today at ScrapMatters, Sprinkler Party:

I had lots of fun playing with whis colorful kit! And looked at that water filled alpha – adorable!!

There’s also some GREAT news at ScrapMatters: there’s a huge sale on all Christmas kits! AND there’s many new Christmas kits coming out today too, and those are on sale as well!!!

4th July Page

When I saw the kit Old Glory by GG Digital Designs, I couldn’t wait for the 4th of July to arrive so I could use it!

It’s really a beautiful kit! And here’s my first page using it:

I plan to do at least another page with the fireworks! πŸ˜‰

A Few More Pages

I have a few more pages to share from this weekend.

I did a 2-pager for the new My Story Matters challenge at ScrapMatters, about summertime as a child. I use the fun and pretty new kit by Jeni Hopewell, Happy, Happy Birthday!

I scrapped this using pictures from my first summer, because as a child all my summers were spent in the same locations and I plan to make more pages with pictures from later years.

I also started playing with a gorgeous kit by Juno Designs, The Good Life:

and here’s what I created:

Finally, but I cannot share this, I did a hybrid project I’m very proud of. I cannot share it because it’s for the first challenge I’m hosting at ScrapMatters, and it’s starting on the 23rd. I cannot wait! πŸ˜‰

Big Sale at ScrapMatters

There’s a great sale going on at ScrapMatters, only until Monday. Make sure you take advantage of it to check out all those kits you’ve been eyeing lately!
And, if you spend over $20, you will get for free a huge template pack – there’s 40 (yes, forty!!) templates in there!! (and one of those was done by me! My 1st template πŸ˜‰ )

Also, there’s big news for the hybrid goodness at ScrapMatters. A whole new line of products is coming to the shop – including physical albums!! How great is that?! Keep checking back in the next few days!

End of June

July sneaked up on me too fast and last night I realized the end of June had arrived, and I was a few points short for getting my GC at ScrapMatters.. So, I had to put together 2 pages to get to 60 points. πŸ˜‰ I used my favorite kit as of late, Life’s a Beach by Sahlin Studio. πŸ˜‰

This one was for a My Story Matters challenge, about a vacation we did as kids:

I didn’t spend too much time trying to fix them, but I’m really disappointed that I couldn’t get the pictures to look any better. They were all so blue! I just desaturated them a bit, but I need to look up a good tutorial so I can improve them.

And this was for the In Living Color challenge:

OK, that’s it for June! πŸ˜‰

Ooops..

I forgot to post this page from last week!! I did it for the latest Roadmap to Scrap at ScrapMatters and I’m really proud of how it turned out! πŸ˜‰

I made this cupcakes during my mom’s visit, and she picked the US theme. πŸ˜‰ I’m very happy with how they turned out, because red is very hard to obtain when coloring fondant, but I think it turned out very nicely!

Finally Friday

There’s a bunch of new products out today at ScrapMatters and I used one right away to make this page:

Girl Power by Chelle’s Creations

I used Girl’s Power by Chelle’s Creations: it’s a Girl Scout kit but it works beautifully for other pages too! πŸ˜‰ I fell in love with that blue background paper.. simply gorgeous!!

On another note: gosh, I miss my mum!!!! It was so great to have her here! I really wish my parents and grandmother lived nearby.. *sigh*

A Speed Scrap and 2 My Story Matters LOs

My mom left yesterday and I’m back to my usual routine. We all really enjoyed her stay very much and we’re sad she left.. πŸ™

I have some pages to show from these past few days.
This page I did for the daily Speed Scrap on Monday and I love how it turned out. These were the instructions:

  1. Go to your favorites folder and find a layout to scraplift. It doesn’t have to be an absolute scraplift, though. You could be inspired by photo placement, photo subject matter, element placement, color scheme, title work, etc. Don’t forget which layout you’ve chosen because I’ll want you to link us up in your credits so the rest of us can see what inspired you.
  2. Picture time!! You have to use a picture (or pictures) that you have taken this month. The month of June. The year 2009. πŸ™‚
  3. Use at least 3 papers.
  4. Since this isn’t supposed to be an exact match scraplift, I can be a little bossy about embellishments, right? Put in some ribbon, some string, and some button(s).
  5. For your title, use an alpha only. NO fonts in the title.
  6. Journaling – be creative. Put your text on a path, on little strips, around the border of your page, etc.
  7. Creativity again – Date your LO, but no boring dates just typed on the page in Century Gothic (what I do almost all the time lol). Add shadows and any other finishing touches.

I lifted a page by Denise, and actually used her template based on that page! πŸ˜‰
