End of Summer

It feels like the summer is over here. Not because of the weather (we’re in the 90s. Again! I can’t wait for the summer to be really over!), but because my birthday has passed and my boss is coming back from her summer travels, so life will be as hectic as ever.

I had a very nice birthday weekend: DH baked me a lovely cake and forbid me from being in the kitchen while he worked, so I ended up scrapping 3 LOs on my birthday. Not a bad way to celebrate! πŸ™‚ I have 2 non-CT LOs to share. The first is done with a very pretty kit by Zoe Pearn and is yet another page from my mom’s trip:

And the second is done using some adorable products by Molly DeCrow:

I went shopping at Anthropologie with my birthday coupon last week, and I had to pick up this pretty headband. I haven’t worn a headband since I was 13 maybe, but this one was just irresistible. πŸ™‚ I also bought some sweet flower shaped kitchen measurers and two wool cardigans, one for me and one for my mom, to wear at Christmas. πŸ™‚ As usual, finding Christmas gifts for my mom is always the easiest task. πŸ˜‰

Sunflowers

Happy Friday! This is my birthday week, and I don’t know yet if I will survive all the lovely dinners we’ve been having! πŸ˜‰ The other night, on our way out to a nice crepes place, DH drove me by a gorgeous field of sunflowers, so of course we had to stop to take pictures. πŸ™‚ The light conditions weren’t very good, so I’m still hoping to go back one of these evenings if the sun is out, since it’s fairly close to our house.
These new monogram journalers by Sahlin Studio were perfect for a sunflowers page!

So pretty!

Journaling:
Sunflowers. You really surprised me when you told me that while I was in San Diego, you went to the farm to ask when the sunflowers would be out. And then last night you wanted to drive by the field, and sure enough, there they were, in all their glory.

Finally, Something to Show!

I haven’t blogged in like forever! I didn’t have anything to show to you (I’ve been working a lot on a very pretty project for the ScrapMatters September newsletter), but now I can share the card I did for today’s It’s in the Cards challenge:

I absolutely love this kit by Erica Zane, and all the add ons!

AND she’s having a birthday sale right now, so make sure you take advantage of it while you can!

Tomorrow I’ll have another little something to show you. πŸ™‚

Long Weekend

I had a long weekend this weekend, because on Friday my boss decided our group should have a retreat on the lake. It was quite fun! It doesn’t feel like it was really a long weekend, with the CT call at ScrapMatters taking up all of my Saturday… Anyway, here’s the new, fantastic team:

I did manage to scrap a few pictures from the lake last night using only Sahlin Studio goodies:

And now I can also share the August SM newsletter project, also using mostly Sahlin Studio products πŸ™‚

You might want to check out the shop and site information section in the SM forum… and QUICK. I’m just sayin’…

It’s new release day at ScrapMatters, and Erica Zane’s kit is soooooooo pretty!

It’s packed with a lot of oh-so-cute elements- I had a hard time not putting them all on my page at once: it was so hard to pick which ones to keep! πŸ˜‰
I made a couple of pages from my weekend with this lovely kit. This one is for today’s Roadmap to Scrap challenge:

Journaling: You aren’t always fond of my desire to take pictures, portraits especially, but I cannot complain too much. On this trip, in particular, you posed without even being asked!

And here’s a matching page I did:

Journaling: The weather was already too warm when we went for a walk before lunch, but it was nice to be out in this lovely scenery.

I am in love with my latest card:

You can’t really tell from the picture, but I used Glossy accents on the bone and alpha. I inked the paper on the bottom to make the paw cut out stand out and I think it turned out pretty cute!

This kit is gorgeous for hybrid projects: check out the beautiful texture in the patterned paper I used in my card!

Just a quick post…

After spending a week in sunny but cool San Diego (and I never would thought I’d be saying this, but I miss that weather very much!) for a conference, I came back home to find that August is already here. And this means the new Sweet and Simple kit by Gina Marie Huff is in the store! And it’s absolutely gorgeous!!! Have a look:

I scrapped 2 pages (and a half… will finish that soon! πŸ˜‰ ) last night, I was on a roll – it’s so easy to scrap with such a lovely kit! I started with some recent pictures:

I didn’t bring my fancy camera to San Diego, but I did have my tiny point and shoot. πŸ™‚ I have more pictures to scrap, especially from my trip to the zoo! πŸ˜‰
Then when I came back, I spent a short weekend away with DH – very nice indeed – and here’s the first page:

That’s it for now, but expect to see more soon. I hope to have something hybrid-y to show you soon! πŸ™‚

Birthday Blog Train!

ScrapMatters is turning three, and what better way to celebrate than with a birthday blog train? πŸ™‚
I remember very well the previous 2 birthday celebrations: two years ago the site was moved and reopened with many games, challenges and fun prizes. I had found ScrapMatters only a few weeks prior to that party, and the birthday celebration made me realize I had found my digi-home. It’s been 2 years and that feeling has not changed! August is also the month of my birthday, so I’m all for celebrating! πŸ˜‰
Last year, for ScrapMatters’ 2nd birthday, the celebrations included a blog train and many fun activities in the forum. Well, this year will be no exception: there are so many games and prizes waiting for you in the forum! And don’t forget the store-wide sale, too! πŸ˜€ There’s also a beautiful collab kit by the ScrapMatters design team, Cupcakes & Candles, that is free when you spend $20 in the store:

But now let me show you what I put together for you using this amazing kit:

This preshadowed element cluster comes in png format and will be available for download for only one week, so grab it quick! πŸ™‚ Don’t forget to leave a comment if you like this freebie! ETA 8/14: Thanks for your interest, this freebie is no longer available.
Now, it’s time to keep riding the blog train till you collect all the gorgeous freebies our team has put together.
You should have arrived here from Stefanie‘s blog, and your next stop is Jenny‘s blog. If you get lost, check out Scrapmatters‘ blog!

There are many great activities and games going on in the forum, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun!
