Project Life Shopping

Several new products by Becky Higgins have arrived on Amazon, so I indulged in some Project Life shopping, yay! Here’s what I got:

The Photo Pocket Pages – Small Variety Pack 1. It’s a great deal because it includes 12 pages: 4 designs (3 pages of each) for $4.99 (instead of $6.99, because the size of the pockets in the design G in this set is slightly off). I already had bought a pack of 12 Photo Pocket Pages – Design G at the beginning of the year so I don’t mind even if I won’t be able to use them. I still think I can use them, just resizing my pockets. Win-win!

I use these smaller pockets as inserts, while I keep the 12×12 pockets as my weekly pages. I have the Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 1 (60 Pages) and I love to switch design every week. I also recently bought these two design of protectors by We R Memory Keepers, to have even more options (images are linked):

It’s perfect timing for me to get these insert pages, because I am working on Week 22, for which I have used 4 Photo Pocket Pages – Design G so far – I have hundreds and hundreds of photographs to fit, since it was our vacation week. 😉 Here’s a peek at my work in progress.

Week 22 peek

I have been using lots of pieces from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection for this week, including the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6X6 Paper Pad, the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Collection – Remarks – Sticker Sheet – Borders, Accents and Phrases,  the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Remarks Stickers Book Accents and Phrases and the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Large Tags Embellishments. I hope to be ready to share the full week soon!

Hello Saturday!

Yay for the weekend! I have some new goodies to share today. First off, a Christmas in July release by Mari Koegelenberg.

This very collection was turned into a paper line for My Mind’s Eye – how cool is that?? I thought I had already scrapped most of our 2011 Christmas, but I found this adorable picture of our elf that hadn’t been scrapped yet, so I made this page.

Elf

This collection is really huge, and I love the bright colors!

Next up, a fabulous collab by Jenn Barrette and Ju Kneipp. It’s available at DHD and SSD.

I made a page

Maine Vacation

and a card, and I love them both! 😉

Whale card

I love vintage designs, and Jenn’s kits always have a special find. I know I have been a quiet blogger lately, but I’ve been immersed into my Project Life. I’m stuck on week 22 – that was the week of our road trip with my mom, and I have hundreds and hundreds of photos to tackle! I’m almost done though – I’m currently working on the Friday of that week, so I hope to be able to share something soon! I also want to make a post about my favorite PL supplies, so look for that next weekend. 🙂

Free Kit at The Lilypad!

I have some awesome news to share! The awesome designers at The Lilypad have put together a gorgeous summer kit, and they are giving it away for free in a daily download!

Check out this thread in the forum for more info! 😉

Truly Madly Deeply

creashens has a new kit in her store, and it is so pretty!

I fell in love with the color scheme! And for a few days you can get the add on flairs for free!

Adorable, aren’t they? I made a page over breakfast this morning, and I love how it turned out!

Project Life – Week 19, Week 20 and Week 21

Here’s my long overdue Project Life update. I got behind when I went on a 1-week business trip, followed by my mom’s 2-week visit, but the sad fact is that even after that, I’ve kept getting more behind. But I do have hopes that my life will miraculously settle down (I’m having an awfully busy summer at work :-() and I can get caught up. I am not giving up, that’s for sure! Anyway, here are the last three weeks I completed.

I was not all that inspired by Week 19, but hey, it’s one more week documented. 🙂

Project Life - Week 19

I did not have much to document this week.. I was home alone until the weekend.

Project Life - Week 19

I guess it’s the color scheme that stumped me.. I do like how the right side turned out though, with the journaling cards – it must be a record, I used three cards from the Project Life Clementine kit on one page! 😉 Seriously, I never use the kit anymore, but I was delighted to dig up three cards that matched my color scheme so well!

Project Life - Week 19

I love the patterned paper on the top right. And I think the birthday card I made looks pretty cool too! 🙂

But let’s move on. Week 20 was a good week for me. I was home alone, but I had a major achievement. I LOVE love love love how this week turned out. How is it that my hybrid intensive pages are almost my favorite ones? 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

It’s pretty obvious that I put together this spread after getting my new desk – the Silhouette-cut elements give it away easily! 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

Bright colors, cut outs, stamps, and glitter? No wonder I love how this week turned out! 😉

Project Life - Week 20

Here are some details. I used distress ink for the stamping (it was the only color I had that matched the color scheme..) so the details aren’t 100% clear, but I like the look anyway.

Project Life - Week 20

I covered the star left over from the cut out with glitter. 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

I tried using a strip of paper in my DYMO. It totally worked! 😉 I love the look!

Project Life - Week 20

A nice mix of stamps and printed digi elements. This spread turned out to be really thick, thanks to those flowers I added to it! My album is getting quite thick already – it will soon be time to switch to a new binder!

Project Life 2012

And here comes Week 21. I tried something new this week too (once again, thanks to the new craft space): embossing! 🙂 I love it!!

Project Life - Week 21

Do not fear, it’s not that I need to remind myself of my name… 😉 That one you see there was a name tag and I had to block out some personal details in these photos. 🙂

Project Life - Week 21

This week is packed with photos and journaling! It made me think whether I am documenting too much.. I like to think that one day I will care about having all these details recorded, but I am not sure..

Project Life - Week 21

That picture up there in the top right corner was taken with my iPhone from the plane – the quality is awful in this picture of a printed iPhone photo, but in person it looks quite cool, with the moon framed by the plane’s wing. But let’s move on to some details! Here are the embossing stamps I made.

Project Life - Week 21

DH and I were on opposite sides of the country this week, so I had the idea of documenting it using a map of the US and our initials. This was my first experiment with embossing, and it was a go! 🙂 So I added more embossed details throughout the spread.

I was almost done with this week – I was missing only the bottom left pocket on the right page – when I decided to use a stencil mask and spray paint to create a background. It turned out pretty cute, albeit a bit too white. But then, as I was about to clean out the stencil, I noticed there was a lot of paint on the stencil, so I used it as a stamp on another piece of cardstock. Bingo! 🙂 This reflection had just the right amount of red to balance my page.

Project Life - Week 21

The journaling on it is kind of hard to read though… and once again, too many words!

I included several instagram photos from DH. I love the look with the paper strip down the middle.

Project Life - Week 21

New releases by creashens

creashens has some new goodies in her store.. and they are fantastic! Here’s what I grabbed:

These frames are so cool!

And I love these vellum dots.

I paired them up with these papers that I’d been wanting to use since they were released:

Here’s my page:

I kind of love this color scheme pulled from the photo! I just combined the orange and red vellum papers to get the color I wanted.

And some good news, our water heater is back up and running. Yay! 🙂 Watch out for a Project Life post from me soon. I have 3 weeks’ worth of pictures to share. I am still majorly behind (6 weeks, ugh!), and I’ve been dreading the super long PL blog post, but it’s about time I did one, since it’s been over a month since I posted the last one!

Horses, Anyone?

The horses in Mari Koegelenberg’s latest kit are too cute to pass!

But what really stole my heart is all the wooden bits! Adorable!

Have a great weekend! I can only hope that mine improves… woke up this morning to find out the water heater is broken… we’re waiting for the technician… :-/

July BYOC!

Yay, I am so happy to share another gorgeous BYOC at The Lilypad! I know I say this every month… but I’m really in love with this month’s BYOC! 🙂

I love these colors!! I started by making a page with a picture from the 4th of July. It was a super hot day, but we braved the heat and went to see the fireworks show (LO to come..). 🙂

I also made a card:

I know I’ve mentioned it already, but I just love how having my own scrap desk now makes me create so much more! It takes no time at all to fire up my Silhouette, and I even added glitter to this card (on the flower). 🙂 I love glitter, but I often am too lazy to play with it.. But I really should get it out more often!

I know I’ll be definitely using this gorgeous BYOC for a few more pages, hopefully this weekend!

New (Old) Kit!

Leora Sanford has re-released a great collab kit with Designs by Lili:

And it’s 20% off! This is one kit I’ve always liked, but for some reason I’d never used it before now. Here’s what I made with it:
