He Said She Said

I was making a card today and, because for some reason I cannot seem to be able to print on only half a sheet of paper, I made another page for my art journal too to print along with the card. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Am I the only one who tries to cover the most surface possible when printing one sheet of paper? ๐Ÿ™‚

Glossy accents
Glue dots

And in case this page made you wonder – yes, I did have a good weekend – eventually. ๐Ÿ™‚
The worst part of my weekend was having to wake up early this morning (a holiday!) to drive DH to the train station. Oh well. I stopped at AC Moore’s on my way back home to buy some flowers and brads. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As of now, my blog has widened to fit images 600 pixels wide. It was about time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Something New

I was RAKed by Sylvie of Sausan Designs with a very lovely kit of hers, Hip!, so I finally took the plunge after drooling for months over the many creative art journal pages in the galleries all over digiland, and started my very own art journal. Of course it’s my interpretation, so it’s not over packed with stuff, but I really, really love these pages!

Physical supplies:
Printed on Polar Matte by Red River Paper
Glossy accents used on the flower
Ranger Tim Holtz distress ink

Yes, I did my first hand stitching on a project ever, and I love how it turned out! (it took me forever though ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) You can’t really tell from the picture but there’s glossy accents on the flower. There’s also a half-face of mine blended in the bottom right hand corner, not sure if you can see it. ๐Ÿ™‚
I used a notebook with pages of about 4″ – fairly small so you can’t fill the page with tiny details, but it’s so cute!
And here’s the second page:

The orange color on this page is not digi – it’s distress ink mixed with water. So cool!

I’m so excited about this new project! ๐Ÿ™‚

In the Garden

There’s one kit in Mari Koegelenberg’s guest store at Miss Tiina’s that I haven’t shown you yet, and let me tell you: it’s a good one!

The papers in this kit are amazing!! And like her whole store at Miss Tiina’s, this kit is 50% off for the rest of the month!
I used it to scrap a page about my mom’s visit (this is day 9, and no, I haven’t scrapped days 2-8 yet, but I thought this kit was just perfect for this pic! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ):

Have a nice weekend!

A Few Challenges

I am (slowly) scrapping my mom’s visit. Here’s another part of her first day:

I did this for the Tuesday Template challenge at ScrapMatters. I rarely use templates, but I really liked using this one!

I also made a card for today’s It’s in the Cards challenge and I really LOVE how my card turned out!

And here’s a detail of the froggie and all the stickles:

I also entered this for a contest going on at Tim Holtz‘s blog. That man is such an inspiration! I’ve been expanding my techniques (and supplies too, LOL!) ever since I found his blog back in December.

Loving Purple Right Now!

Mari Koegelenberg has another, gorgeous kit at Miss Tiina’s (she’s guesting there this month) – and it’s 50% off as is her whole store there!!

I am loving purple lately – and I bought this lovely t-shirt on the recent shopping spree with my mom:

Love it!

So, today is my 3rd wedding anniversary, but sadly DH is out of town and I’m having a super-busy week at work – cannot wait for it to be over!

Animal Mobile

Happy Saturday! I’m here to share my project for the May ScrapMatters newsletter. This was so much fun to make! However, taking a picture of the completed project was not fun at all: I didn’t have enough light, and all the animals kept moving around! Ugh! Here’s the best shot I could get:

Fish from More Fish Friends by Britt-ish Designs
Elephant from Land of Fantasy by Britt-ish Designs and Sahlin Studio

I used several kits by Britt-ish Designs to find the adorable animals for my project.

It looks so much better in person. When I finished it, DH said it turned out much better than he expected (ha, thanks for the vote of confidence!). I’ll take that as a compliment, anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sweet & Simple kit

This month’s Sweet and Simple kit by Gina Marie Huff was put in the store late, but let me tell you: it was worth the wait! It is so huge and fabulous!

I used it to start scrapping my mom’s visit, and I really love how these pages have turned out! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, we has snow on Mother’s Day! It was only a dusting. We had really poor weather when my mom was here, it was pretty cold! Oh well, we had a great time anyway! ๐Ÿ™‚
I have a lot more pictures to scrap about her visit, so be prepared to see them soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s Cooking?

Mari Koegelenberg has an adorable new kit out today – and with a husband who is a great cook, I couldn’t be happier to have this kit! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The papers in this kit are stunning!!!!! She also has a great set of printables – perfect to make a recipe book!

Check out the great examples Mari posted on her blog – these printables are fantastic!

And the best news is that they’re both 30% off today and tomorrow!
Here’s a page I did with this lovely kit:

On a personal note, my mom’s visit ended Monday, so I’m back to my usual routine – and some scrapping  too! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve been scrapping a few pages about her visit and I’ll post them here tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

Girlfriends

Mari Koegelenberg has a collab with Nicole of Sugarplum Paperie out today and I’m totally in love with it!!!

I love the colors and all those pretty elements!!
I am on a scrapping break (my mom is visiting so I don’t have any scrapping time) but I know I’ll be using this kit as soon as she leaves – it’s perfect for a mom&me page!
The kit is 30% off right now, so grab it quick! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Mother’s Day!
