December Daily 2017

Last year I didn’t make a December Daily album, because I was too busy. First Christmas in our new home, and my parents came to visit – it was a wonderful Christmas! So of course I want to document it after the fact. And now it is the time to make it happen!

For this year, I decided to use a passport traveler’s notebook. The individual pages are 4″x6″, which is a great size for hybrid.

The notebook cover is by Foxy Fix and it is just perfect for Christmas! It’s a single passport (size #1) in Sugar Coconut leather, with a gold embossed pine on the front.

I’m now halfway through making the pages (since it’s a traveler’s notebook, I need to work on the first days of the month alongside the last days, so I have days 1-10 and 26-31 done at the moment. :). I’ll be sharing a bunch of pages after the new Document Your December products get released at The Lilypad this Friday!

Slider Card Tutorial for Sweet Stamp Shop

I was a guest designer for the October release at Sweet Stamp Shop, and I have a tutorial to share to make this fun slider card using the Flying Squirrel stamp set.

I started by stamping the images from the set using black dye ink (Memento Tuxedo Black), coloring them with my Copic Ciao markers (YR0000, YR15, YR68, Y15, R22, E11, E31, E35), and fussy cutting them.

Next, I started building my slider card. I have a video to show you how to plan out the card and cut the slot for the slider element.

Next, I made a blended background for my card. Here’s a video showing how I used Distress Oxide ink pads (salty ocean, wild honey, carved pumpkin) with an ink blending tool to make the background.

Finally, I and added the sentiment stamping to the front and inside of the card (not pictured: the stamping of the “Happy Fall” sentiment on the inside of the card) and assembled it, as you can see in this video.

The final result is so much fun! I love how versatile this stamp set is – it’s perfect not just for Fall, but for birthdays and everyday cards too!

And I have some good news for you: Sweet Stamp Shop is having an early Black Friday sale, so you can pick up this stamp for 30% off!

I also am happy to report I successfully completed Artober – 31 daily art prompts for the month of October inspired by Jane Davenport.

(I used a template by Scrapping by Liz from The Lilypad to make this collage of my artwork, and artwork by Rebecca McMeen to decorate it).

Fall Musings

I love Fall, even though the temperature always drops way faster than I’d like…

Today I want to share a page I made with some products that are on sale for 50% off today at The Lilypad. I am in love!! It was so quick and easy to put this page together.

Supplies:
Tally Elements Only by Rebecca McMeen
Pumpkin Party {Dressed Down} by Fiddle-dee-dee Designs

The quote in the kit was just perfect for where I am at in my life. And don’t be fooled by the name of this kit, which says “elements only” – in fact, papers (and gorgeous ones at that!!) are included too.

Lately

I’ve been quiet lately because I have been busy with life, and with playing with new supplies! So here’s what I’ve been up to.

Sweet Stamp Shop

I’ve had a blast making a few projects for Sweet Stamp Shop as a guest designer for October!

The first thing I did after receiving the 3 stamp set was to stamp all the images, color them and cut them out. So fun! The sets on the left are colored with Copics, and the set on the right is done with watercolor pencils.

I’ll be sharing the projects I made with these sets later in the month.

Online Classes

Last year I took Sandy Allnock’s Copic Jumpstart class, and it was great. Since in the past year I’ve acquired an embarrassing amount of colored pencils (I bought both the Prismacolor Premier and Faber-Castell Polychromos full sets, in addition to the 80 Caran D’Ache Supracolor pencils I had from my childhood), I decided to sign up to her Colored Pencil Jumpstart class. I haven’t had time to dive into it yet, since I’m still working on my color charts (and it takes forever with all these pencils! :P), but I am making progress. She just relaunched her Art Classes website with a new platform, and has a great giveaway going on right now- check it out here!

New Art Supplies & Artober

I have been a fan of Jane Davenport for a while, and I am absolutely in love with her products. She has a new line that was launched this month, and I have bought an embarrassing amount of it, and am having a blast trying it all out with her Artober prompts.

So that’s what I’ve been up to. What about you?

Happy World Cardmaking Day 2018!

Hello and happy World Cardmaking Day! (It’s also Digital Scrapbooking Day – yay!)

So in honor of this day I have some good news to share, and a card. I’m thrilled to share that I am a guest designer for October for Sweet Stamp Shop!!! Along with the new stamps that will be released in a couple of weeks, they sent me 3 current stamp sets, which I have been having lots of fun with! Here’s the first card I made, using the stamp set Pour Decisions.

The background is made with Dylusion Ink Sprays, then I stamped with Versamark ink and white embossed the images from the stamp set.

I can’t wait to share more of what I’ve been creating!

I also placed a big order of stamps last week when they had a special 20% off sale, and received them this week. I am so in love with them all! Here’s what I bought if you are interested. 🙂

I tested them out right away in my Hobonichi Cousin. 🙂

Are you crafting today? What are you making?
