Birthday Pages

I’ve been having a good weekend so far, lots of relax and scrapping time. πŸ™‚ I finished scrapping my birthday pages using many of the new BYOC products:

I can’t say I am happy about having turned 30, but I’m trying to take it in stride. πŸ™‚

The Big Three-oh

Journaling:
I guess it would be pretty easy to let myself wallow in thoughts about how fast time is going, how many things I was hoping to get done before turning thirty, how different I was hoping my life to be. But why bother? I am happy with where my life has led me so far. And this year, for the first time in my whole life, DH has managed to take some decent pictures of me on my birthday (he says it’s because of my beloved 28mm lens πŸ™‚ )! There are good things to come.

The weather is still warm, but it does feel like summer is over already. I want to enjoy the long weekend as much as I can!

September BYOC!

It’s BYOC time at The Lilypad, and this month’s BYOC has such a pretty palette!

And here’s what I have done with it so far!

I hope to have more time this weekend to scrap a bit more with this BYOC, because it is too gorgeous to pass!

Sunflowers

Last night I scrapped two more pages with the products on sale this week at The Lilypad for Tadpole Tuesday and Wibbit Wednesday. Fun!!

Come back tomorrow, it looks like I have some new pages to share every day this week! πŸ™‚

Summer Favorites

I have been slowly getting back into my routine: work, office, and some scrapping of course! πŸ˜‰ Today is Tadpole Tuesday at The Lilypad, so there are some great new releases at a super discounted price. I combined a few in this page:

I have to say, I am sad that summer is over already. It was mostly a good summer, but I feel I worked too much and didn’t get enough recognition for it (welcome to grad school…). Oh well. I hope the end of the year goes smoothly!

End of August

I cannot believe that August is almost over already. This summer has flown by, and I’m not too happy about it! It has been a way more busier summer than I was expecting. I just came back Thursday night from a conference in California, and I scrapped my first page using many of today’s new releases at The Lilypad.

These templates make it so easy to put a page together!

All Hybrid This Week!

New releases are out today at The Lilypad and I have lots of hybrid goodies to share! πŸ™‚ First off, a collab by Sahlin Studio and Sugarplum Paperie:

I love the blue and yellow combination!

I haven’t had time at all to create this week, but when I saw this new element pack by Valorie Wibbens I knew I had to grab it right away!

Isn’t it utterly adorable?? And here’s the cards I made:

The backs are quite pretty as well:

Woodly cards back

I’m having a hard time picking a favorite.

Miss Ya card

The fox, maybe, although I am always partial to fawns. πŸ™‚

I Love You card

And the owl is so cute too!

You're a Hoot card

These adorable critters would make great thank you cards as well! Oh, and make sure you check out the coordinating kit!

Off to Alaska!

This is probably the most last minute trip DH and I have ever done… but we’re off to Alaska!! We bought the tickets just 1 week ahead of the departure, which left me in serious panic mode to get ready. I decided I had to make a journal album to bring on the trip with us, so I had to put it together very quickly. I loooove how it turned out!

How to bind the book is what I pondered most. I love stitched books, but, alas, I do not own a stitching machine. Nor do I have a Bind-it-all or a similar fantastic machine. Since I already bound my previous travel book with rings, I wanted to go with something different. After much consideration, I found the simplest solution: use masking tape! It’s easy, quick, cheap, and fun!! The fact that it comes in a pretty blue too was an unexpected bonus! πŸ™‚ In the process, I also finally fired up my Silhouette after a couple months of laziness and cut a bunch of cute elements for my album.

Here are a few details:

Alaska Travel Journal Cover

I used Mod Podge to glue down the tree and the title, but since I have now fallen in love with said masking tape and wanted the book to have a cohesive look, I added a few bits on the cover as well. πŸ™‚

Alaska Travel Journal Inside 1

In the inside cover, I printed a pretty map of Alaska.

Alaska Travel Journal Inside 2

The inside pages are done with the new ledger papers by Sahlin Studio from this month’s BYOC, printed on plain copy paper.

Alaska Travel Journal Inside 3

I bound the internal pages with regular masking tape. I love the look!

Alaska Travel Journal Inside 4

And here’s my favorite part! Lots of colorful word strips to glue inside the journal!! I am bringing a glue stick with me (sigh, Mod Podge is liquid and I cannot bring it with me) to glue them as I go. That envelope (from the post office) is what determined the size of the journal. πŸ™‚

Alaska Travel Journal Back

Isn’t it cute that the tree continues on the back?

I don’t know if I’ll ever manage to follow up and print some pictures to put in the album after we’re back, but at least I will capture all the journaling while we’re there.

August BYOC

It’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s BYOC time at The Lilypad!!

The color scheme this month is very pretty! Alas, I have not had much time to scrap lately, but here’s a page I made with a variety of goodies:

Mom's Visit - Day 10: Another Perfect Day

Journaling:
Today was a good day. I went to the university because I had to attend a workshop, but when I came back, fairly early, we went out on the deck for an aperitif. The weather was glorious. My favorite weather, 60s-low 70s, with the sun shining strong. We’re off to a good start of the week!

I thought I wouldn’t have time to scrap anything else, but then I saw the new stamp frames by Sara Gleason and I had this idea, so of course I couldn’t rest until I got it done! πŸ™‚

P52 Cards 1-30

Journaling:
This year I started a new project.I called it project 52 cards. Every week I give you a card done by me. We are past Week 30 already, and we are both loving it!

Do you believe it took me less than an hour to do this page? It was really quick to put together, thanks to these pretty frames and to the fact that all the pictures were already edited for my regular P52 Cards blog post. πŸ™‚ It’s so cool to see all the pictures together! Not that I needed any more motivation to keep this project going, but it’s really nice to see this summary. πŸ™‚

August Already?!

August is here and the new monthly challenges at The Lilypad are posted! I made a page for the formula challenge, for which we have to make a page using only 1 paper, 1 element, 1 picture, 1 alpha, 1 font and 1 color.

A heart C

I cannot believe August is here already! It’s going to be a busy month for me so I’m afraid there won’t be much scrapping/crafting from me this month. But apart from work, work, work, DH and I are planning an impromptu trip too, so it’ll be fun! πŸ™‚

ETA: I got a GSO (gallery standout) for this page! πŸ™‚

ETA2: I also got a GSO at Me So Scrappy. πŸ™‚

ETA3: I got LOTW (layout of the week) at Me So Scrappy! πŸ™‚

Friday Releases!

It’s Friday, and there are some fabulous new releases at The Lilypad! First off, a fantastic collab by Sahlin Studio and Kate Hadfield:

and there are some great additional packs too:

As you must have learned by now if you’re a follower of this blog, I don’t have any camping pictures, but that’s not a problem! This kit is very versatile and works great for any outdoor pictures or hybrid projects! Here’s a card I made with it:
