I’m Here

I know I haven’t blogged in like forever, but I’ve been pretty busy with life lately!
My mom isn’t doing too well with her broken foot, but hopefully she’s on the mend. I made her a card last week, and I’ll try to make her another soon!

I loved this sketch, it’s one of the gorgeous templates that are provided at ScrapMatters for the Tuesday Template challenges, hybrid version!

Wanna Lift Me?

I was chosen for this week’s Grand Theft LO challenge at ScrapMatters! 😀 Come play along! 😉

I lifted myself and chose this page:

and here’s my lift:

And while I was at it, I created a matching page too:

This kit by Tater is gorgeous, and perfect for all my food pictures! 😀

I still have a couple of projects I haven’t posted yet, so even though my scrapping time for this week is over (yes, busy, busy week!) I’ll still be posting something in the next few days. 🙂

Fall Madness

I signed up for the Fall Madness contest they’re having at DigiScrapAddicts, lured by the money prize 😀 and I have two pages to show. This contest is pretty tough because each scrapper is paired with another scrapper, and only one makes it to the next round. The voting is done by 13 designers.
Unfortunately, in both rounds I’ve been paired with fellow CT members: in the first round, LoriBear, on ScrapMatters’ CT; in the second round, with Brenda (kaleandkiara) of Amy Sumrall’s CT. Even more unfortunately, Lori wasn’t able to post her LO in time, so I passed to the second round with no competition. Sad, sad! 🙁

Anyway, here’s my page for Round One. We had to scrap a page containing the words “I love”.

This page is totally me: funny, and speaking volumes about my life and my love for DH. 🙂

For the second round, we had to scraplift our opponent; so even though I consider being paired to a friend a misfortune, I was lucky enough to get to lift her amazing work. Brenda’s gallery is amazing, and she is a master of white space – something I often struggle with because my pages always seem empty – and clustering. I chose to lift All Grown Up by kaleandkiara and here’s my page:

This is one of the rare occasions that I couldn’t force myself to put more elements on the page. 🙂 I love this page! And Chelle’s kit – it’s soooooo gorgeous!!
I doubt that I can make it to the next round because Brenda is a fabulous scrapper, but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed, you never know. 🙂 The results will likely be made public on Sunday, so this is going to be one long week.;)

My Sweet Bears

Sorry for not blogging, but this has undeniably been a bleak week and I didn’t feel much like blogging (and I still don’t, but I have too many pages to show so I’d better start posting them! 😉 )..

I had the privilege of playing with a gorgeous collab by the Polka Dot Plum designers, Survivor:

And I made two pages of our sweet, sweet bears – the colors were just perfect!

For this page I also used the gorgeous new templates by Amber of Stolen Moments, at ScrapMatters. I had lots of fun picking all those pretty papers! 😉

And here’s the other bear – I just love the colors of this page!

I have more pages to show, so hopefully I’ll be in the mood for blogging this weekend.. We’ll see!

Juggler

I feel like a juggler this week, trying to find time to work on my hybrid project (has to be ready by Saturday!!), getting pages done for my awesome CTs and spending time with DH (last night, dinner+concert – spectacular!).. But so far, a part from some tiredness, it’s working! 😉

Here’s the last 2 pages I did for challenges at ScrapMatters. This one is for the In Living Color (yes, I do have a thing with leaves and trees recently.. 😉 ):

and this one is for the Roadmap to Scrap:

Let’s Go to the Circus by Gwenipooh Designs

which follows these instructions:

  1. Choose 2 photos.  Both photos must be repeated on your layout (you can use different crops and sizes)
  2. For papers you can use as may as you want, but keep the photos and elements as the focus of you page.
  3. Now add some ellies and lots of them!
  4. Here is the catch on those element…every element you used must be used 2 times and 2 times only.  (so you can use as many buttons, flowers, ribbons etc as you want, but each individual element must be used 2x on the LO)
  5. Pick out 2 fonts, any fonts you think will compliment the page, can be script, typed, doodly…whatever floats your boat!
  6. Use the 2 fonts on your layout anyway you want, journal, title, date etc – go crazy! – but only use those 2 fonts.
  7. Now add in some sparkle and shine. You must have 2 different sparkly things, can be glitter, sequins, gems, etc.  Remember you must use each element 2 times on the page, even the sparkly stuff!
  8. All you need to do now is add some fab shadow work to finish off you page.

Both pages were done in 20 minutes each, the first one during breakfast on Thursday, and the second right before we went out to go to the concert last night… Gosh! I really have to slow down! 😉

Busy Bee

I’ve been a busy bee lately, but I won’t be scrapping LOs nearly as much this week, because I started working on a (huge!) hybrid project last night and I hope to get it done by next weekend, so that DH can bring it to my mom when he goes to visit.

I got to play with Jennifer Barrette’s collab with Lauren Grier, Off the Beaten Path, and I’m totally in love with this kit!!!

Here’s one page I created (there’s more, but I can’t show it just now.. 😉 ):

Then I did a page for the new My Story Matters challenge, about my friends in middle school:

Finally, and it’s worth celebrating, I ordered the photobook with the first 30 weeks of my P365!!!! 😀 Here’s the cover I made for the photobook:

Sorry for the extra long credits, but hey, there’s NINETEEN alphas in this page! 😉

That’s all for today! I have another page from this weekend to show, but I’ll leave that to tomorrow. 😉

Some digi and some hybrid

This week has been crazy so far, but somehow I’ve managed to squeeze in some scrapping time nonetheless.
Here’s a page I did for the October Inspiration Point at ScrapMatters:

I finally got another page for my birthday done, now I only need to do another page with the yummy cake DH baked for me! 😉
And here’s a pretty luminary for the Dazzling Decor challenge:

I now have to force myself not to scrap anymore until I get the pages for my P365 photobook ready for print: I have an offer for a 60 page book that expires this weekend and I MUST get the pages saved and uploaded! It’s such a boring job and I’ve been putting it off and scrapping new pages instead, because of all the gorgeous new kits at ScrapMatters, but it’s now time to get this done!

Important Announcement!

Today is October 1st, and (apart from being my grandmother’s birthday! 😉 ) this means a new daily download is starting at ScrapMatters, and let me tell you this: you do NOT want to miss this!!!!!!!

Head over to the daily download section of the forum every day, and you’ll gather up a gorgeous, gorgeous kit!! Links for each day are up for 24 hours only, so make sure you get each day’s download!

I {heart} reindeer

Here’s the page I promised I would post yesterday, but didn’t have time to. I love how it turned out! I made it for an Everyday Magic challenge at ScrapMatters, about our collections.

It’s only Tuesday, but I’m way behind with everything already!!! This is certainly one of those days I wished I didn’t have to work and could scrap all day! 😉 (wait, are there any other kind of days?? :-P)

10 Years!

As you may know if you’re a regular reader of this blog, a little over a month ago DH and I celebrated out 10th dating anniversary. For the occasion, I worked on a little hybrid project and I can finally share it here, now that it’s posted as a tutorial on the ScrapMatters blog too! 😉

10 years is quite a long time, and I thought it would be neat to create a mini album with a page for each year we spent together. I tried to get a picture taken in summer, around our anniversary date, but I have to tell you, some years it was hard to find a picture of the two of us together at all! Luckily, this will never happen again, because since I started scrapbooking I’ve always made sure to take plenty of pictures of us. 😉

Anyway, here’s my little album: it’s tiny and it turned out very pretty! 😀

I kept the pages very simple: most of the space is taken up by our picture, plus I added a date stamp that bears the year and the anniversary number.
