Love Is in the Air

I am smitten by the lovely new kit by Mari Koegelenberg and Sugarplum Paperie! Such pretty, pretty colors!

I have been super busy for the past 8 weeks or so, and have not been taking many pictures at all. But last weekend we went out for a bit to enjoy the pretty winter scenery, and I am glad we got a few good shots, including this one.

January Mixed Media Monthly

It’s time for a new Mixed Media Monthly (M3) kit at The Lilypad! This month’s theme is travel, and I am in love with it!!

I’ve got a few trips lined up, so it seems like this kit was made for me! 🙂 I used it and some add ons to make 2 photo less page and a regular page.

On this page I documented the favorite places I’ve been to. I’d return to any of these in a heartbeat!! I added a short sentence for each place. I loved making this page, it was like a trip down memory lane!

It’s a great month indeed for the M3! 🙂

I Need A Vacation

Truth…

I tried something new this week. I combined the gorgeous Enough brushes by Ali Edwards and the Holiday Hangover digital kit by Allison Pennington (50% off today!!!) to make a 6″x8″ page. I added some stamping in black ink and some embellishments to finish off the page.
I have fun experimenting with this size! And it was a very therapeutic page to make. 🙂

Yeah so my new printer is all installed and ready to go. I like it. Still need to figure out the right setting for 4″x6″ borderless printing though as it’s just a tiny bit off.

New Printer!

Hello and happy weekend! I have a busy weekend ahead, with lots of work I need to get done, and some play – I got myself a new printer! 🙂 But first, I want to share with you a couple of pages I made with some awesome new releases.

First up, a collection by Mari Koegelenberg that is super trendy, with the planner craze that has taken over the scrapbooking world!
I have not quite jumped in on the planner wave myself, but I have to say that laying out the month like this really inspired me. Who knows.. I may give this a go!

Next up, a bright, happy kit and journaling cards by Sahlin Studio:

I used this to make a hybrid page. I did this before my new printer arrived so I had to be creative using colors that my old printer would print (yellow was safe ;)).

And here are a couple close looks:

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Sale and Month of Challenges

Have you been playing along in the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad? It’s not too late to join! And you can take advantage of today’s 50% sale on select products to stock up on new supplies. 🙂 I grabbed a few items from the sale and made this page for the Jan. 2 challenge – using blending modes.

I love how it turned out! I thought that those triangles resembled Christmas trees, and I love the bright colors.

Hello Twenty Fifteen

Yeah, I guess I am on a roll with pages welcoming the new year. 🙂 But when I saw these new brushes by Ali Edwards, I couldn’t resist!

I knew I wanted to use one of the brushes in a bold way. So I added a gradient color overlay, and printed it out on white card stock. Then I spent a loooong time stitching around it with four different thread colors. [why do I always underestimate how long it takes to hand stitch something?? LOL.. But it was totally worth it! ;)] I thought about adding some small photos + journaling + embellishments around the word art, but then I decided to make this a 2-page layout instead.

I just added some stamping, a journaling card and a photo on the second page, and scattered a few stars throughout.

I love how this turned out!

First hybrid/paper page of 2015: done! 🙂

Clean and Simple

I am hosting the January 4th challenge for the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad. Today’s challenge is to make a clean and simple page. Obviously this is right up my alley, but I have some tips for you if that’s not the case for you. Check them out here. Here’s my page:

Hello 2015!

Hello, and Happy 2015!! I hope you had a great start of the year!

The January BYOC is in the store at The Lilypad, and I used it to scrap this page:

This is my first page scrapped in 2015, and I am in love with it!!

I also have a page to share from the January monthly gallery at write.click.scrapbook. This month’s theme was “decades”.. I was stumped at first, then I took this occasion to document something I don’t think I would have documented otherwise: my love for 50s music! 🙂

I worked on my Project Life album today, but my printer is dying and I am unable to print pictures. So frustrating! I have my eye set on a new printer, but until that happens I guess I’ll have to stick to digital pages. 🙂
