Hm, the colors are a bit faded – I don’t know what happened when I saved the image at a smaller size to be published on the web.. :-/

Birthday LO

I had some pictures from my grandmother’s 80th birthday last October, but had put off scrapping them because I didn’t exactly know what to do with them. I finally plucked up the courage to scrap the pictures from this important day and came up with this LO:

The colors are a bit bold, but I love it!! I’ll be doing a matching page with my grandmother and the cake. 🙂

Week 6

Here’s my week 6! I used Polka Dot Plum’s new kit, Occasionally, for this double-pager.

A Speed Scrap!

Last night I hung out at TheDigiChick (it’s a really nice place, the best for hybrid tips, and I’ve been hanging out there more and more, lately) for a chat, and I ended up speed scrapping! I hadn’t done a speed scrap in ages (I checked: my last was in November!) but I loved this one.

I was tired last night, since I’m always pretty tired on Fridays and we met in the chat at 10 P.M., so I decided I wouldn’t scrap; but then after all the instructions were posted, I felt I wanted to try it out, so I did a page I’m very happy with.
These were the instructions:
  1. Choose 1 solid paper and 1 patterned paper. Crop the patterned paper into a rectangle approximately 5 inches high. The strip should extend horizontally across your entire background paper from edge to edge. Place the strip in the center of the page.
  2. Choose 1 photo and crop it into a rectangle shape. The photo can have any effect or be black & white. Place the photo in the center of the page onto of your patterned paper rectangle. You can use landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) photos ~ just make sure in a rectangle shape.
  3. Choose 1 doodled frame and place it BEHIND your photo. The entire frame can be showing or just the edges, and the frame can be tilted. Then choose 1 ribbon frame and place it ABOVE your photo.
  4. Now have some fun. Layer as many embellishments as you want around, under and above your framed photo BUT make sure that you have at least 1 piece of greenery, 1 flower, 1 heart, and 1 piece of string.
  5. Choose one butterfly and one bird and place them diagonally across from one another at two corners of your photo.
  6. Choose a tag and place it at the bottom right of your photo. Place your journaling, names or dates on the journaling tag.
  7. Choose an alpha. Create a three word title for your page. Place your title at the bottom right of your photo, near your journaling tag.
and here’s my page.

I think it turned out super-cute! 🙂 I just love it how speed scrap make you do things you wouldn’t think of.

Hop on the PDP Blog Train!

The Polka Dot Plum CT girls are hosting a 2-week long blog train that you don’t want to miss!

Every day you can collect a quick page made with the gorgeous Sensory Overload:
The first stop is on the PDP blog!
My stop won’t be until 10 days or so, but make sure to hop on the train and pick up the QP each day! By the end, you’ll have 15 QPs ready to make a complete album!

Occasionally

Amy and Lauren have a new kit out!! Here’s its description, by CT fellow Sharon:

Occasionally you need a kit with a collection of floral patterns and elements, perhaps a plaid or dotted design. There will occasionally be a call for basic unadorned papers and accessories. Red may be just the color you fancy, but occasionally muted tones with just a few frills might fit the bill. Your project may necessitate a diverse mixture of ribbon, stitches, flairs, flowers, frames, notepaper, and occasionally a simple or fancy journaling block. Whether you occasionally scrap or are addicted, you will find Occasionally to be a kit you will go back to more than just occasionally.

And here’s the kit:

Today it’s 20% off so go snag it at Sunshine Studio Scraps or at Scrap Orchard!
Here’s a page I did with it last night:

A Dare!

I did a page for the DigiDares (my first) and I ended up doing something that’s totally NOT my style. But I LOVE the result!! 😉

I used Polka Dot Plum’s gorgeous Sensory Overload – it’s packed with gorgeous stuff and it was just perfect for this crazy page. 🙂

Cute Pictures

When DH and I want to take a picture of ourselves, it’s never easy nor quick. We always have to try out several poses, and then take multiple shots because either I had my eyes closed or DH was making a funny expression (usually, the latter!!). So yesterday the picture I chose for my Project 365 was only one of  17 that we took, and most of them were terrible! 🙂

Anyway, I had a couple more pictures I really liked, even though neither of them is *perfect*. But they were just too sweet to throw out, so I did a new LO with them tonight and I love how it turned out!
