Penguin Cuteness

My husband loves penguins, so I made him a card using the latest kit by Erica Zane:

Isn’t it adorable? Here’s my card:

Get ready for more cards coming tomorrow. I’m on a card roll! 😉

Good to Be Home!

Having spent most of December away from home, my creating habits have been thrown off a bit. It is so good to be home! This week I was able to sneak in a little time to be crafty and use my Silhouette. I had missed it during the holidays! 🙂
Jenn Barrette’s today’s new release at The LilyPad was just screaming ‘hybrid’ to me!

Isn’t this kit just adorable?? The patterns are so unique, and all the phone elements are too cute for words! And the best part is that it’s 30% off for the weekend!
So here’s what my Silhouette and I made:

And the fun part is that the dial spins for real! 😉

Phone Card 2

I just love the paper I used for the back of the card:

And here’s the inside:

ETA: I got a GSO for this card! (it’s my 1st hybrid GSO!)
Now check out what else Jenn has in her Sweet Shoppe store today, 20% off:

I have already cut some bits and pieces for a card, so look out for that soon.
I have lots of stuff to do this weekend: we bought some shelves and we need to set them up; I also really have to take pictures of my Dec. Daily album (it would be high time for that, huh??)! 🙂

Christmas Cards: Mission Accomplished!

Last week I finished the last Christmas cards I needed. They turned out quite pretty! 🙂 Since then, all my (little) free time has gone in putting together the December Daily album (which is now 99% complete), so look out to see some pages of that soon. 🙂 I’m actually not looking forward to taking pictures of all the pages I made – there are so many! So the plan is to take pictures after I’ve added photos and journaling, not of the blank pages.
Anyway, here’s my 3 last cards:

I actually added some liquid pearls to decorate the tree, but don’t have a picture of that. Sorry! 🙂
Then I made a print only card:

And the last one:

This is my favorite; it was my first time using Martha Stewart’s micro beads – so pretty!

December Has Arrived

December has arrived, and my December Daily album is not ready yet. 🙂 But it’s almost there! Yesterday I spent the day creating & cutting.

Dec Daily bits

Fun, fun!! 😉

Black Friday!

Are you braving the crowds looking for the best deals, or are you lazy like me and prefer online shopping? 🙂
Either way, I hope you enjoy this Black Friday without getting stressed out.

Check out the new products Jenn Barrette has in her stores today: three fabulous collabs!
First off, a fantastic kit with Zoe Pearn:

I used it to make a card for DH’s birthday:

Then a triple scoop:

This kit is adorable! Here’s a photo-less page I made with it:

I had fun creating the little monster! 🙂
Finally, a collab with Pink Reptile Designs – I loooove the retro colors and patterns!

It was perfect to scrap this picture of DH I had been saving:

Have a nice day!

O Christmas Tree

Since I decided to do Christmas cards after all (for family only), here’s another one I worked on during the weekend:

Oh how I love Stickles!
It certainly looks like I’m only doing Christmas-y stuff lately: either cards or December Daily! 😉 And I am having so much fun at it! 🙂 But I also feel like I’m running out of time, so I am really glad for this long Thanksgiving weekend.

A Chance of Flurries

I have put together two new pages for my December Daily album this week using a fabulous new release by Jenn Barrette and Mandabean (20% off today!):

The pictures really don’t do these pages justice (they’re so pretty!!), but here’s what I made. Page 7:

And page 8 (I actually haven’t printed the date insert yet so for now the 8 is just sitting on the right hand page):

The silhouette works really great for making alphas. I usually cut three copies of each letter and glue them together to get a nice thick alpha. So fun! I made the 8 this way. And for the mittens, I glued together 2 copies so they have a nice thickness.

Falalalala

So have you survived DSD? I didn’t spend much time online, because I wanted to spend time with DH who is finally back home after 2 weeks of traveling, and I also wanted to make progress on my December daily album. I have made progress (still not much – 5 pages only! – but it’s coming along) and I can confirm once again that the Silhouette machine is my best purchase E.V.E.R. I am totally in love!
Here’s a few sneak peeks of what I have accomplished this weekend:

I also bought my first paper kit ever (you can see it in action in the top picture: the green paper)! Well, not a kit but some bits and pieces: a 6×6 paper pad and some adorable chipboard accents. From this collection. I’ve been drooling over it ever since the first projects with it were posted back in July.
So, from digi to paper? 😉 No, my album is still mainly hybrid, but it really is super convenient to be able to add in a few double sided pages without having to print out my own and glue them together. 🙂 Plus, it’s such a pretty, pretty collection! I’ve been craving something like this in digi ever since I saw it, but haven’t found it.

I’m seriously starting to wonder what I am going to do when this album will be completed. I mean, how in the world am I going to find the courage to cover up these pretty pages with photos and journaling bits?? They are so cute just as they are! 🙂 Seriously! I’m thinking I’m going to write in very tiny handwriting, and maybe add pictures on extra pages? Hmmm…
I’m still not 100% sure that I will be able to finish this project, because it’s taking me a lot of time and December is getting so close!, but I sure hope so because I’m loving it so far!

Halloween Decor

Since I saw Tim Holtz’s 12 Tags of Christmas project last year, I’ve been wanting to do some tags. So when I was thinking about a project for the October newsletter of ScrapMatters, I put tags and Halloween together and ended up with this Halloween tag banner:

Tag Sale Rounded Tag Templates by Geeky Diva Designs
Spooky and Halloween Chic by The Design Girl Boo Bash and Ticket Tape – Halloween by WM [squared] designs After Midnight by Jennifer Labre

As you can see, there are 4 tags so far (but in the meantime I’ve done 2 more – I will be able to show them off in a couple of days! 😉 ):

I had so much fun doing these tags!! I decorated the back of the tags with patterned papers.

Both my local AC Moore and Michael’s do not carry Black  Soot distress ink by Ranger. Seriously, that’s a shame!! So since I needed to get this project done, I decided to try out some black glitter instead. (In the meantime, I have purchased the black soot distress ink online and used it for the 2 missing tags that I will post on Thursday.) I bought Martha Stewart’s glitter and I am IN.LOVE!!!! It is so sparkly and fun! OK, a bit messy, but soooo pretty! 🙂
Here’s a closer look at my tags:

I used velvet fluff on the spider web! Fun!

Happy Tuesday! 🙂

I’m In Love!

As I promised yesterday, I’m back to show you the amazing project I did thanks to my new cutting machine. 🙂

When I first saw this beautiful collab by Krista Sahlin and Jenn Barrette, I knew I wanted to do something hybrid-y with it. Especially with that gorgeous ferris wheel.

So since I’m an overachiever and a bit reckless at times, my 2nd project with my new Silhouette SD was this:

Vintage Carnival kit and wordart by Sahlin Studio and Jenn Barrette

The result is just amazing! All pieces used above were cut individually. The wood paper is about 3.75×4.3 in size so I think you can appreciate the detail this machine was able to cut!
I’m looking forward to the long weekend so I can play more with my machine!
