Scrappy Saturday

Do you celebrate Halloween? Mari Koegelenberg has a kit out that is just perfection!!
I don’t really care for Halloween that much, other than as a chance to watch scary movies, but this year I do have a reason to look forward to it. So I did a non-Halloween page with this gorgeous kit. I am in love with the star and the ombre papers!

Jenn Barrette has a lovely new collab in the store today and ย I used it to make this card.. I was thrilled with how well those gold splatters printed out on my Canon matte paper!!

I just added another touch of gold using glitter tape (I love that stuff)! Simple design, but I like how it turned out.

That’s all I have for today! These kits are 20% off today only!

Saturday Releases

I had a scrap-fest last night and made three pages. ๐Ÿ™‚ One is for the write.click.scrapbook October gallery so it will be two weeks before I can share it, but the other two are done with brand new products that are 20% off today. First off, the last installment in the Days of the Week collection by Mari Koegelenberg and Sugarplum Paperie. ย And here’s my page:

Love our little corner of the world! Next up, an adorable fall kit by Jenn Barrette!
I am in love with these colors! Seriously, gorgeous kit! I used it to scrap a picture I took the other day of a funny squirrel in our garden. ๐Ÿ™‚

This squirrel kept running around and acting funny, until he stopped in this position for a bit. Seriously cracked me up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

May BYOC + iNSD at The Lilypad!

Hello Spring

Jenn Barrette’s new kit (20% off today!) is perfect to scrap the first few pictures of spring!ย The journaling cards are adorable too!
I made a hybrid page and had so much fun putting it together! It’s 8″x8″.

I used mists (Heidi Swapp Color Pop teal, Heidi Swapp Color Pop primrose, Studio Calico Mister Huey buttercup), sequins and some stitching to add more texture to the page. Here are a couple of details:

That huge blob on the background was a major mist spill (taught me that you shouldn’t be scrapping when you are nervous!), but it turned out to be a happy accident in the end. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also have another page to share (didn’t have time to blog it yesterday), using creashens’ latest kit and accompanying products, which are just adorable!ย I loved the blue in the kit, but I ended up with this red+green color scheme that I was digging. I think I need to make another page with the blue now! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a fabulous weekend!

And the week is almost over!! Hope it’s been a good one for you!

A Day Late..

Not sure how it happened, but yesterday kind of got away from me.. ๐Ÿ˜‰ .. and I have two cards to share with two new kits that were released yesterday! The first one is by Mari Koegelenberg…
I made this simple card, but I really love how it turned out! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Then there is this fun kit by Jenn Barretteย and my card:

Have a nice day! I hate the switch to Daylight Savings, I know it’ll take me a few days to get used to it! Getting up on hour earlier is never good in my book… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Out of This World

Once upon a time, years before discovering my vocation in scrapbooking, I had taken up embroidery as a hobby. I spent quite a bit of time at it, but I gave it up happily when I discovered scrapbooking, and never looked back. Tonight, as I was sewing on this card, I thought back at all the long hours spent embroidering, and I wondered how I could put up with that stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚ It is clearly not the hobby for me.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I do love how the sewing turned out in the end, but this is one thing you won’t be seeing much of in the future from me. It took me way too long! I think I spent over an hour sewing on this card. The first attempt was directly on the background and it quickly went awry (I made a huge hole in the background and that resulted in some creative rearrangement of the elements of this card ;)). Next, I decided to sew on vellum and add it to my card – that worked better, but it still took me forever. ๐Ÿ™‚

But apart from the insane amount of time I spent on it, I am very happy to have made this card – I finally got to use a seriously AMAZING kit by Jenn Barrette.
This kit is so cool! There are several papers in there that I wanted to use for my card (including a fabulous star chart and a planet map), but in the end I settled for this unique one.

I included the moon phases on this card as an inside joke for my husband – at my high school graduation exam I was asked a very simple question about the moon, and to this date he makes fun of me to the brilliant answer I gave (which, BTW, was precisely what the teacher wanted to hear) – “it’s the moon!”. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Love You So Much

Jenn Barrette is re-releasing in her Sweet Shoppe store this gorgeous collab with Lauren Reid. It originally came out when she was guesting at One Story Down, but I ย didn’t get a chance to grab it back then. The kit is 20% off today!
I love this kit so much! The theme is obviously scrapbooking, but it works for anything really! I used it to make a love card using the print and cut feature of my Silhouette.

Here are some details.

I cut out the three frames and backed them up with patterned paper.

I love how it turned out! ๐Ÿ™‚
I have another post coming soon with another fabulous release (or three ;))!

ETA: I print all my hybrid projects on Canon matte photo paper. It’s very cheap, and the colors turn out beautifully!

December Daily – Days 2-7

As promised, I am back to share some December Daily pages. I had started out this project thinking I would be combining my Project Life and December Daily albums in one, but the truth is I love Christmas so much that it deserves its own album! ๐Ÿ™‚ So I’m doing a true Dec. Daily album, and I’ll catch up (or not.. ;)) on the ordinary events in my PL album. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have been super busy with my last classes and exams, on top of my regular work, so I’m a bit behind, but I am keeping things simple in this album, so I will be catching up soon. Here are days 2-7!

DD 2012 - Day 2

I splurged and bought Kelly Purkey’s December Daily kit – I fell in love with the stamp, and I just couldn’t resist – and I’m so glad I did! For this spread I just used a journaling card from the kit and the stamp for the date. The rest is all photos – I loved them all and wanted to include them. My two favorite people in the whole world!

DD 2012 - Day 2

I thought the confetti journaling card went perfectly with all the Christmas lights/bokeh pictures. ๐Ÿ˜‰

DD 2012 - Days 3-5

I included as an insert a prank from our elf.. ๐Ÿ˜‰ DH was printing out 200 copies of the program for a concert that would take place on Dec. 16th, and our elf decided to steal the show and printed his own version! ๐Ÿ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 3-5

Gotta have glitter in my album! ๐Ÿ™‚ The label is from the Studio Calico 25 Days class (Dec. Daily class) kit; the background paper is by Basic Grey Fact&Fiction, I covered a Studio Calico Wonderland wood veneer tree with Stickles, and layered it on top of some awesome glitter tape. Oh and the date stamp? I recently bought this awesome number stamp and I’m in love!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

You will start seeing a pattern here.. when I don’t have any Christmas pictures for the day, all you get is an Elf picture. ๐Ÿ™‚ So I can also combine multiple days in one page and keep the thickness of the album reasonable. I journaled and stamped on the back of the program (stamps by Ali Edwards, Cute and So Totally Happy sets). On the right, filler cards are made with A Christmas Tradition by Jenn Barrette and Valorie Wibbens.

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

For this spread, I added in a paper bag from Starbucks – I love their designs so much, plus you never go wrong with bunnies! <3 a="a" href="http://scrapflower.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=21109" i="i" left="left" on="on" target="_blank" the="the" used="used">journaling card by creashens
(slightly recolored), and the bottom two pockets are made using A Very Vintage Christmas by Digital Design Essentials.

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

I had so much fun decorating the back of the paper bag!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

In all honesty, I botched the first stamping: I stamped “Hey Santa!” (from KP’s DD kit) in red but I didn’t press it down properly so the middle remained blank, so I decided to color the whole bubble red and stamp another sentiment on top of it instead (oh what fun, from the 25 Days class kit). I chose green because it matched the Starbucks logo, and I restamped the Hey Santa in green too (properly this time). ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love the result!!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

I love this page too – I decided to use a journaling card I’d pre-made using Jenn Barrette’s A Month of Memories and I only just realized that it matched the picture on top of it perfectly, with the peppermint sticks! I made the title using Dear Lizzy tile stickers (the package comes with 2 sheets, one with gold letters on white and the other with white stickers on gold) and Dear Lizzy Fox glitter thickers.

That’s all I have for now, hoping to get caught up very soon!
