Since I decided to do Christmas cards after all (for family only), here’s another one I worked on during the weekend:
Oh how I love Stickles!
It certainly looks like I’m only doing Christmas-y stuff lately: either cards or December Daily! 😉 And I am having so much fun at it! 🙂 But I also feel like I’m running out of time, so I am really glad for this long Thanksgiving weekend.
I have put together two new pages for my December Daily album this week using a fabulous new release by Jenn Barrette and Mandabean (20% off today!):
The pictures really don’t do these pages justice (they’re so pretty!!), but here’s what I made. Page 7:
And page 8 (I actually haven’t printed the date insert yet so for now the 8 is just sitting on the right hand page):
The silhouette works really great for making alphas. I usually cut three copies of each letter and glue them together to get a nice thick alpha. So fun! I made the 8 this way. And for the mittens, I glued together 2 copies so they have a nice thickness.
Happy DSD!! 🙂 And welcome to another stop of the ScrapMatters blog train.
ScrapMatters is having a great celebration for Digital Scrapbooking Day, including a fantastic sale, a gorgeous free with $20 purchase collab kit Many Thanks, games, chats, speed scraps… you name it, it’s happening this weekend at ScrapMatters! 😉
The designers have some fabulous new products in the store and I am really in love with this huge collab, it is just beautiful!
Since the theme of this blog train is Thankfulness, I wanted to share something I am grateful for today. I am grateful for having a loving husband who takes care of me and makes me laugh and puts up with all my scrapbooking time. 🙂 He also does special things for me, and I want to tell you about the most recent one. He has been traveling for work these past two weeks, but last week he hid a gift for me in the house. It’s a bracelet he made for me:
Isn’t that sweet? So it looks like I’m no longer the only one in the family putting together handmade gifts. 😉
Anyway, here is the little something I created for you:
I hope you like it, so please leave me a comment if you do! 🙂
This freebie will be available only for one week, so grab it quick! [ETA: 11/13 this freebie is no longer available, thanks for your interest]
It’s time to keep riding the blog train. You should have come here from Liz’s blog and now you can head off to Tanya’s blog to pick up your next goodie! If you get lost, just head back to the ScrapMatters blog.
Make sure you check out the special DSD section in the forum so you don’t miss out on all the fun games and events that the team has organized! 😉 You will find a schedule there too.
I’m so excited about DSD (digital scrapbooking day) because there are some incredible sales going on (40% off at ScrapMatters, the best deal all over digi-land!) and the designers have created an amazing number of gorgeous new products! I wish I had the time to use it all!
I only had time to scrap with one product this week, and I picked this beautiful kit by Erica Zane:

Happy DSD!
DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) is coming up next weekend, and the designers are busy preparing new products for this great shopping spree! DSD is really a fabulous time for digi scrappers, who can take advantage of great sales and fun events.
At ScrapMatters, we’re having a week-long 40% off sale (the best deal ever!), fun games, a blog train, a beautiful kit free with $20 purchase… So much fun!
And Jenn Barrette is busy putting together so many fabulous kits you won’t believe your eyes! She’s up to four kits right now, but who knows if she will come up with something else too! 🙂 I cannot wait to share what she has in store for Saturday!
I told you I would be busy catching up with Jenn’s latest kits, so next I scrapped with this jaw-dropping kit:
The colors are just amazing and inspiring! So here’s what I did with it:
Ever since I’ve seen those number templates in Erica Zane’s store I’ve known I would use them for my calendar cover, and I finally did! 😉 I LOVE how the cover turned out!! Now 2 more pages to go, then I can finally have them printed. 🙂
Also, today Jenn is re-releasing her gorgeous Fly Free kit in her store, and it’s 20% off! (you can check it out in action two posts down)
Have a great weekend! Mine’s been going pretty well so far. I have work to do, but I haven’t started yet; I have finally finished the ScrapMatters Nov. newsletter project on which I’ve been working for the past week, and this time I cannot double guess myself because I had a very special friend come visit and show his approval! 😀
He liked it and I’ve decided he’s a much better sport than DH! 🙂
Since I saw Tim Holtz’s 12 Tags of Christmas project last year, I’ve been wanting to do some tags. So when I was thinking about a project for the October newsletter of ScrapMatters, I put tags and Halloween together and ended up with this Halloween tag banner:
As you can see, there are 4 tags so far (but in the meantime I’ve done 2 more – I will be able to show them off in a couple of days! 😉 ):
I had so much fun doing these tags!! I decorated the back of the tags with patterned papers.
Both my local AC Moore and Michael’s do not carry Black Soot distress ink by Ranger. Seriously, that’s a shame!! So since I needed to get this project done, I decided to try out some black glitter instead. (In the meantime, I have purchased the black soot distress ink online and used it for the 2 missing tags that I will post on Thursday.) I bought Martha Stewart’s glitter and I am IN.LOVE!!!! It is so sparkly and fun! OK, a bit messy, but soooo pretty! 🙂
Here’s a closer look at my tags:
I used velvet fluff on the spider web! Fun!

Happy Tuesday! 🙂
Back in August I worked on this project for the Sept. newsletter at ScrapMatters and I loved every moment! It was quite an endavour to get it done, but so worth it! I am literally counting the days to December when I can use it and show it off to my family! 🙂
But since I realize most normal people don’t get excited about Christmas in September, I decided to wait a while to share this project. Now that the leaves are falling and holiday season is in the air, it might be the right time to do it. Also, this month’s Getting Hybrid challenge at ScrapMatters is all about creating your own holiday planner, so I hope you’re inspired to join us!
I used this adorable kit by Stolen Moments for my planner:
and since I’m obsessed with pink and green for Christmas this year, I recolored the blue paper with the trees to make it fit my mental picture.
I created all the embellishments (minus the bells, the buttons and the beads of course 😉 ) from scratch. It was so much fun!
Sooooooo pretty! 😀 Posting these pictures now really puts me in the mood for doing my December Daily album! I have no idea if I will find time to complete it, but I sure want to give it a shot, starting this weekend! 🙂
October is here and I must say I cannot complain about this 50F weather. Especially after coming back last night after spending 4 days in Tucson, AZ, in 100+ weather. Ugh. So good to be home! 🙂
Anyway, I have 2 little somethings to share done with Friday’s new releases at ScrapMatters, both Halloween-y. 🙂
First off, I scrapped a pic of me from last year:
And next is a cute coffin treat box I made a few weeks back and I can finally share it! I used a kit by a new designer at ScrapMatters, Jennifer Labre.
I haven’t played with my Silhouette in a couple of weeks now and I’m so eager to use it! Busy busy busy life though… 🙁
