Pure heaven! 😉

There’s lots of new gorgeous kits out today at ScrapMatters; here’s the one I picked up, by ScrapMuss Designs:

It’s such a romantic kit! I wanted to scrap pictures of DH and me, but didn’t have any (those are always the first to get scrapped! 😉 ) so last night we took some pictures. And since there was no special occasion, I just scrapped a page about a normal evening at our house. 😉
I did this for the Roadmap to Scrap challenge at SM, and these were the instructions:

  1. Use a template with an ODD number of photos.
  2. Include at least 2 patterned papers.
  3. Please use at least 3 out of the 5 following items: buttons, ribbons, staples, frames, journal strips or tags.
  4. Show me some shapes that aren’t squares, rectangles or circles.
  5. Add something blue to your page.
  6. Place something on your page that’s obviously upside down. It could be a photo, an element, anything, just be sure we can tell it’s not in it’s original and upright position.
  7. Use an alpha and a font for your title.
  8. Now select everything on your page except the background paper, and shrink it at least 10%.

I have another page to show off, for the Grand Theft LO challenge:

I’m not so sure I like the selective coloring on the pic.. I don’t know, I just never seem to like b/w picture as much as I like the color version!

It’s a Party!

Don’t make plans for the weekend, because there’s a PARTY, and you’re invited!!! 😀

ScrapMatters is turning 2 and we have a lot of fun activities planned (not to mention the sale!!)!!

OK, I know you want to know more! Well, there are many fun games planned, a ton of speed scraps (with great partecipation prizes), a great blog train, a huge collab that’s free with $15 purchase, an incredible sale..! You don’t want to miss this great party!
I’ll post more details closer to the weekend! 😉

Catching Up!

I have a few pages to show from the weekend, all done for challenges at ScrapMatters.

Starting this month, SM is having monthly guest designers! For August, the guests are Amber of Stolen Moments and Minna of Mira Designs. I used some goodies from both of them for this page (for the Saturday Special challenge):

OK, that’s it for now! 😉

Almost Weekend!

I picked up an adorable mini kit by Britt for the mini album I’m working on, and I’m totally in love with this kit!

So I used it for a page that I can show off right now! 😉

I’m so glad the weekend is almost here! 🙂

It’s Here!!!!!!!!!!

Wohooooo! I cannot believe it yet but I have a new lens!!!!!!!!
I’d been thinking about getting a 50mm lens for several weeks, and yesterday DH brought me to try it out. We tried both the f/1.8 and the f/1.4. And then… we got the 1.4!!!!!!! The price was actually very good and we decided to go for the extra stop since I’m going to need it in low light situations.
I’m in heaven right now!!! 😉
So of course last night I scrapped some pictures taken with the new lens. This is for the new Roadmap to Scrap challenge at ScrapMatters, with these instructions:

  1. I want you to choose 3 photos for this layout – ONE of them (the focal photo) should be turned B&W or sepia. Feel free to get creative with selective tinting, too, if you’d like.
  2. Your background must be predominantly WHITE. It can have a subtle texture, but I want to see a white background!
  3. Choose three more patterned papers to use as you wish on your layout.
  4. The focal photo needs to be “hung” on the page from a metal embellishment of some sort.
  5. You can embellish however you like, however, I want to see the same embellishment repeated at least three times. You can use different sizes of the same element, but the same one should show up a minimum of three times (think visual triangle!)
  6. Please add some bling – I love bling and I’ve gotta see some of it on your page!
  7. Title your page with a black or white alpha (or maybe a black AND white alpha).
  8. Journal your page in a handwritten font of your choice and don’t forget to include the date!

I love this kit by Britt and Krista, it’s just gorgeous!

I also used 2 new alphas out today – I’m such an alpha junkie, and these are just so cute!!

Finally!

The hybrid challenge I’m hosting at ScrapMatters is finally live, so I can share the project I did for it. I’m so proud of it!! 😉

I used the gorgeous collab Tropical Escape by Erica Zane and Mari Koegelenberg for this frame. You can find it at ScrapMatters and the DigiChick.
I actually chose this kit because it matched beautifully the Prima flowers I had just bought! 😉
Physical supplies: wooden frame by Michael’s, Mod Podge, glue dots, buttons from Wal-Mart, beads, Epson matte presentation paper, Prima flowers.
I got the idea for sticking the the beads on the buttons from the CK blog and I love the result! So pretty!

Getting Ready for Christmas…

Artscow had a sale a couple of weeks ago: a deck of personalized cards, only $6.99 including shipping. Since my parents love to play cards, I thought this would make a perfect gift for them! I’ll actually use it as a stocking filler for Christmas! 🙂

Here’s the cards:

I decorated them with pictures of my parents, their initials and a few elements in theme. 🙂
I used the gorgeous Jackpot by Britt-ish Designs for this – just perfect!

Now let’s see if I can resist until Christmas to give them to my parents.. 😉 I’m not sure when I’ll see them, so it does look like I’ll have to wait a few months.
