Pumpkins & Grab Bags

I’m all ready for Christmas already, but I really love the cute little gourds I bought to decorate for the season, and I made 2 LOs to show them off! I used 2 grab bags (Britt’s and Chelle’s) to make these pages, but today all the ScrapMatters DSD grab bags have been split up, so I’ll show you a few of the individual products I used. First off, a page for the Tuesday Template challenge:

Using Britt’s Breezy Holiday:

and Take a Sweater Alpha:

I also made a page for today’s Roadmap to Scrap challenge, that has these instructions:

  1. Choose a template
  2. Choose at least three papers, 2 solid papers and 1 pattern
  3. Add some vellum or acrylic to your layout
  4. Embellish as you wish but I want to see at least one cluster
  5. Include buttons, stitches, ribbon and string (minimum of 1 each)
  6. Add a frame but use is different that you normally would ie) off center underneath the photo etc.
  7. Use a creative date element to date your layout
  8. Title your layout with a minimum of one font and one alpha

and here’s my page, I had SO much fun putting it together!

I used a bunch of gorgeous products from Chelle’s grab bag:

and another item from Britt’s:

These grab bags were really packed full, and I haven’t even shown everything that was in them! 🙂

I have 5 more weeks to post, but those will have to wait, because in week 41 I took pictures of a cute hybrid project that will be featured in the November ScrapMatters newsletter and that can’t be shown until Nov. 15. BTW, if you haven’t already, you can sign up here for the newsletter (and apart from my tutorial, you’ll find interesting tips, and a gorgeous free kit like in every newsletter, so do sign up!)

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day! It’s Blog Train time!

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day! I’m so excited about all the festivities planned at ScrapMatters! First of all, have you checked out the gorgeous new products, and the DSD grab bags in the store??
ETA: the 35% (25%CU) sale has been extended until MONDAY at midnight PST, so don’t miss your chance to grab these amazing deals!!

Check out the special DSD section of the forum for games and fun challenges! There’s a lot of games planned, including bingo (with chat), I Spy, a scavenger hunt, an avatar challenge, a SM trivia game and a comment challenge! Which means there’ll be lots of prizes! 😉 There’s also a free with purchase collab kit that is simply jaw-dropping. It’s free if you spend $15 or more in the store, and it’s totally worth it, because it’s huge and beautiful!

I really love the colors and the theme of this collab kit, because I always love to scrap the everyday little moments that make my life special. I also take at least one picture every day to document my life, and I love my digital camera! Here’s a page I did with this gorgeous kit:

So now it’s finally time to show you what brought you here on my blog: a freebie! 😉 Here’s what I made for you: a clustered frame using some bits of the kit.

ETA (11/12): THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST, BUT THE FREEBIE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. It will be put in the shop along with all the other goodies of the shop tomorrow, Friday 13.

This freebie will be up only until Thursday, so grab it quick, and please leave me a comment if you download. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the celebrations at ScrapMatters! Happy DSD everyone! Your next stop on this blog train is Haynay’s blog. You should have arrived here from Tater’s blog, but if you are lost, go check out the train blog complete list on SM’s blog or in the forum!

DSD Grab Bags at ScrapMatters!

Have you seen how many gorgeous grab bags are for sale at ScrapMatters??
Unfortunately, my time is limited and I’ve only been able to play with one so far, but they’re all just gorgeous! You better grab them quick before they are unpacked, because they’re such an amazing deal!
I loved using Erica Zane’s grab bag:

Make sure you check out the previews in the store because the content of the bag is revealed there, and I know you won’t be able to resist! 🙂
Here’s a page I did with it for the Saturday Special challenge:

Can you believe how cute that owl is??? 🙂
I also did a very pretty card, but I won’t be able to show it for a few days.. 😉
And now, I’m off to play with some more of these gorgeous grab bags! 🙂

DSD Sale!

It’s sale time at ScrapMatters! There’s a great store-wide sale going on this weekend, with a gorgeous free with purchase store collab to top it off!

Make sure to check out all the great DSD grab bags in the shop!
There’s a special DSD section in the forum where you’ll find all the information on the fun games planned for the celebrations.
I hope you have fun! I’ll see you tomorrow for a great ScrapMatters blog train! 😉

Turkey Time..

I’m getting excited that Thanksgiving is coming up in a few weeks – I’m really, REALLY looking forward to the long weekend! 😉
Also, I’m in love with all the adorable turkeys in the Thanksgiving kits that are coming out at ScrapMatters (keep an eye out for the new releases on Friday)! 😉
For now, I’ve been playing with the gorgeous collab kit by Erica Zane and Denise Beatty, Let’s Get Together, and I made a card for the Hybrid Tuesday Template challenge out today:

I also scrapped our Pecan Pie recipe for the this month’s A Matter of Taste challenge:

I really can’t get tired of this kit – it’s so gorgeous!!
I’m glad I took many pictures the one and only time we baked this cake, back in February.. We must make it again soon because it turned out delicious! 🙂

Can’t Wait for the Weekend!

I know it’s only Monday, but I really cannot wait for the weekend, because Digital Scrapbooking Day is coming up and the celebrations at ScrapMatters are going to be tons of fun!

There will be games, a huge sale with a free with purchase collab (and it’s a fabulous, huge kit!), gorgeous new products+grab bags, and a blog train too! I cannot wait! 😉
In the meantime, let me show a couple of pages I’ve done lately. First off, I played with a collab by Denise Beatty and Erica Zane (and let me tell you, this team is a winning one!), Let’s Get Together:

I’m so glad I have a little turkey at home, because I already scrapped all of last year’s pictures, and I just couldn’t wait for Thanksgiving to scrap with this gorgeous kit! 😉 (Of course, you can scrap any page with this kit because it’s really versatile, but I really wanted to put that adorable turkey on my page! ;))

I did this page for a Roadmap to Scrap challenge at ScrapMatters, following these instructions:

  1. Choose three photos – and do something creative to them all (i.e. use an action, crop them, kick up the brightness/contrast, turn them into B & W, selective recolor them)-as long as you change them from their original state.
  2. Select four papers (3 patterns and 1 solid).
  3. Crop any two of those papers into a geometric shape (circle, square, triangle).
  4. I want to see at least 4 different botanical items (leaves, twigs, flowers) on your layout-you can use all flowers (as long as there are 4 different types).
  5. Add at least 3 different ribbons, strings, or lace.
  6. Use two different alphas on the LO.
  7. I want to see two different fonts-and one needs to be a handwritten or journaling-type.
  8. Add something metal (such as a staple or paperclip). You can use something mentioned earlier to satisfy this requirement (like a metal alpha).

Next up, I did a page for the latest My Story Matters challenge: we had to scrap about changes, and I scrapped about how different high school was from middle school (and from anything I experienced later, too!):

OK, that’s all I can show for now!

Fall Madness: Round Three

Yesterday I finished my page for round 3 of the Fall Madness contest at DigiScrapAddicts: a LO without photos. I was really happy with the idea of my page and the realization, until I saw the entry of my opponent, BeccaBoo – jaw-dropping!! Oh well, I had a blast doing this, and I’m happy just to have reached round 3. 🙂

I love no photo LOs and I loved doing this one! I’m also very proud because I made the dial myself, using a built in effect in Photoshop! 😉

Catching Up!

Here’s a few pages I haven’t posted yet. I’ve been playing with some gorgeous kits!!
