Project Life 2013

And so it begins…

Project Life 2013 - Title page

πŸ˜‰ I have to admit I got stuck when I started working on the title page for my 2013 Project Life album. I chose the pictures but then I wasn’t sure how to proceed. I started digging in my computer and found some pretty awesome things that I had collected throughout the year and not used yet. πŸ™‚ It was easy to put the page together at that point. In the end, I love how the title page turned out!

Project Life 2013 - Title page

I wanted to feature some of my favorite things on the cover page, so I added stamping, embossing, sequins, glitter, washi tape, vellum, confetti and stitching. πŸ™‚ I realized I forgot to add wood veneer, but I had already closed up the pocket by then. πŸ˜‰

Project Life 2013 - Title page

Not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but I printed everything on linen paper by Red River Paper (except the photos) – I love that texture so much!

Project Life 2013 - Title page

After trying it out in my December Daily album, I am in love with pockets filled with glitter, sequins and confetti! I am so happy to have this in the front page of my album. πŸ™‚

Project Life 2013 - Title page

Supplies:
I used a Design F page protectorΒ (the choice was motivated by the left page of week 1, that I’d already started).
The “Hello 2013” card is from the January Project Life kit by Studio Calico. The calendar stamps are by Designs by Lili; the b/w quote card is a freebie by Elise Blaha; the “just begin” card is a freebie by Ali Edwards. Stamps are all by Studio Calico (from the Venice Beach add on – “you & me”, 34th Street card kit “there’s no place like home”, and Day by Day class kit “twenty thirteen and “the best is yet to come”). The star punch, chunky glitter and micro beads (all in the confetti pocket)Β are by Martha Stewart. Mistable camera by Studio Calico; enamel dot by My Mind’s Eye.

I haven’t completed my Week 1 page yet but I’m 3/4 of the way done. I added an insert because I have a lot of pictures this week. πŸ™‚ I hope to get it ready to be shared soon!

December Daily – Days 23-25

Whoops.. I forgot to post the last two pages of my December Daily album here! Here they are. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 23-25

The reindeer card is from A Month of Memories by Jenn Barrette. Alpha stickers: Basic Grey; the rest is from Kringle & Co. by American Crafts.

DD 2012 - Days 23-25

Day stamp by Kelly Purkey, embellishment from Kringle & Co. by American Crafts plus some glitter brads.

As usual by the time I get to Christmas Day I don’t feel like embellishing much, but it’s OK – I love giving room to photos. πŸ™‚ Another year done, yay!

December Daily – Days 15-23

I am almost done catching up with my December Daily album – and it feels good! We were gone Dec. 26-30, but as soon as I got back home I got working on it. I just have 2 days to go before the album is done. December Daily is for sure my favorite project to work on. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 16-19

This is probably my favorite spread in the album! The word art card is by Little Butterfly Wings.

DD 2012 - Days 16-19

The alpha stickers and the paper are by Basic Grey. The stamp is a digital element I had cut out with my Silhouette in 2010 for my DD album, but never used. πŸ™‚ I’m loving the number stamp for the date.

DD 2012 - Days 16-19

The letter stickers are from Dear Lizzy. The number stamp is by Kelly Purkey. I covered the Studio Calico wood veneer arrow with Stickles. The green paper is a leftover from a previous page – I stamped the Studio Calico stamp and embossed in gold glitter zing, and then I sprayed Estate Green Mister Huey on top. And here comes my favorite thing in the album…

DD 2012 - Days 16-19

This is my first see through pocket ever, and I love it!! I did some sewing to create compartments, and put in sequins, chunky glitter, punched shapes (snowflakes and stars), wood veneer and micro beads to decorate. I stamped on the back of a digital element (more below) and I love how it turned out! Stamps by Martha Stewart and Kelly Purkey.

DD 2012 - Days 20-21

I really like this spread too. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 20-21

Here’s the back of the pocket! Not sure which side I like more – I love them both! πŸ˜‰ The word art is by Little Butterfly Wings. The star card is by Paislee Press.

DD 2012 - Days 20-21

The reindeer card  is by Paislee Press, and I added a red sequin for the nose. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 21-22

The polka red dot wrap was from the chocolate basket pictured above – I love that you can see it peeking from the pocket in the previous page too!

DD 2012 - Day 23

The reindeer paper is from Kitschy Christmas by Jenn Barrette and Sahlin Studio, and I also used the Christmas Journal Cards and Ephemera: Trimming the Tree by Sahlin Studio.

December Daily – Days 8-14

I am not on holiday break yet (yuck!), but I conceded myself some time over the weekend to catch up on my December Daily album. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 8-11

Not much happened these days that was Christmas-related, so I only had elf pictures for my album. πŸ™‚ I also included a funny joke DH forwarded to me on Facebook. The next spread took me a little more time to put together, and I love how it turned out!

DD 2012 - Days 12-14

The green paper is from Basic Grey Fact & Fiction.

DD 2012 - Days 12-14

I stamped a pretty pine stamp by Martha Stewart on the little tag with green ink – so pretty! The date stamp is done with my latest favorite number stamp purchase. The Ho Ho Ho is from a set by Valorie Wibbens, and the glittered stars card is by Paislee Press.

DD 2012 - Days 12-14

I had lots of fun stamping and embossing here! The number stamps (from Kelly Purkey’s December Daily kit) were embossed with gold glitter zing on vellum. The other stamp (from Studio Calico) is also embossed in gold glitter zing, and then I sprayed Estate Green Mister Huey on top – it really makes the gold shine even more! The little stars are punched out from a foil wrapping using this awesome punch – another of my recent purchases, and you’ll be seeing more of it soon. πŸ™‚

I finally bought myself a tiny attacher by Tim Holtz, and I’ve already put it to use to hold down those sequins. I love it!! Here are a few other things I used to make this page.

That’s all I have for now! I’m a little over a week behind, but it’ll be easy to catch up – as soon as I have some free time!

December Daily – Days 2-7

As promised, I am back to share some December Daily pages. I had started out this project thinking I would be combining my Project Life and December Daily albums in one, but the truth is I love Christmas so much that it deserves its own album! πŸ™‚ So I’m doing a true Dec. Daily album, and I’ll catch up (or not.. ;)) on the ordinary events in my PL album. πŸ™‚ I have been super busy with my last classes and exams, on top of my regular work, so I’m a bit behind, but I am keeping things simple in this album, so I will be catching up soon. Here are days 2-7!

DD 2012 - Day 2

I splurged and bought Kelly Purkey’s December Daily kit – I fell in love with the stamp, and I just couldn’t resist – and I’m so glad I did! For this spread I just used a journaling card from the kit and the stamp for the date. The rest is all photos – I loved them all and wanted to include them. My two favorite people in the whole world!

DD 2012 - Day 2

I thought the confetti journaling card went perfectly with all the Christmas lights/bokeh pictures. πŸ˜‰

DD 2012 - Days 3-5

I included as an insert a prank from our elf.. πŸ˜‰ DH was printing out 200 copies of the program for a concert that would take place on Dec. 16th, and our elf decided to steal the show and printed his own version! πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Days 3-5

Gotta have glitter in my album! πŸ™‚ The label is from the Studio Calico 25 Days class (Dec. Daily class) kit; the background paper is by Basic Grey Fact&Fiction, I covered a Studio Calico Wonderland wood veneer tree with Stickles, and layered it on top of some awesome glitter tape. Oh and the date stamp? I recently bought this awesome number stamp and I’m in love!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

You will start seeing a pattern here.. when I don’t have any Christmas pictures for the day, all you get is an Elf picture. πŸ™‚ So I can also combine multiple days in one page and keep the thickness of the album reasonable. I journaled and stamped on the back of the program (stamps by Ali Edwards, Cute and So Totally Happy sets). On the right, filler cards are made with A Christmas Tradition by Jenn Barrette and Valorie Wibbens.

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

For this spread, I added in a paper bag from Starbucks – I love their designs so much, plus you never go wrong with bunnies! <3 a="a" href="http://scrapflower.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=21109" i="i" left="left" on="on" target="_blank" the="the" used="used">journaling card by creashens
(slightly recolored), and the bottom two pockets are made using A Very Vintage Christmas by Digital Design Essentials.

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

I had so much fun decorating the back of the paper bag!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

In all honesty, I botched the first stamping: I stamped “Hey Santa!” (from KP’s DD kit) in red but I didn’t press it down properly so the middle remained blank, so I decided to color the whole bubble red and stamp another sentiment on top of it instead (oh what fun, from the 25 Days class kit). I chose green because it matched the Starbucks logo, and I restamped the Hey Santa in green too (properly this time). πŸ˜‰ I love the result!!

DD 2012 - Days 6-7

I love this page too – I decided to use a journaling card I’d pre-made using Jenn Barrette’s A Month of Memories and I only just realized that it matched the picture on top of it perfectly, with the peppermint sticks! I made the title using Dear Lizzy tile stickers (the package comes with 2 sheets, one with gold letters on white and the other with white stickers on gold) and Dear Lizzy Fox glitter thickers.

That’s all I have for now, hoping to get caught up very soon!

December Daily – Day 1

I am happy to be able to share Day 1 of my December Daily album! It uses a gorgeous new kit by Jenn Barrette that is 20% off today:

If you follow my blog, you know I have a bit of an obsession for color matching my pages with my photos, especially in my Project Life album… but I swear to you that this page came together on its own! I prepared a couple of cards with Jenn’s kit, and after printing out the photo of the gingerbread house I was amazed to see how well it went with this particular card. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Day 1

I stamped directly on the photo here – all stamps are from the sold out Christmas kit by Kelly Purkey.

DD 2012 - Day 1

Here’s a closer look at the card. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Day 1

I made a vellum envelope to hold a few more pictures – I had a lot from this day. The flair button from JCPenney was perfect with the theme and colors of this day too. πŸ™‚

DD 2012 - Day 1

Here’s the stack of photos from the envelope.

DD 2012 - Day 1

And the back of the envelope.

DD 2012 - Day 1

The right page is all photos, with some digital word art added.

DD 2012 - Day 1

And that’s Day 1! Hope you enjoyed it! πŸ™‚

December Daily 2012 – It Has Begun!

I am so excited to be working on one of my favorite projects: December Daily. Put together two things I love – Christmas and crafting – and I’m in heaven! Dec. Daily is a concept started by Ali Edwards to document the Christmas season day per day. I completed a mini album both in 2010 and 2011, and I’m at it again this year. πŸ™‚

For my first page of the 2012 December Daily, I used a paper by Sahlin Studio, in the gorgeous December BYOC at The Lilypad (25% off through the weekend!):

This is the first page you see when you open my album:

DD 2012 - title

The picture at the bottom was taken on Dec. 1st, and it’s the only snow we’ve seen so far, but I hope we’ll have a white Christmas this year, so I thought it was perfect to put it at the front of my album. πŸ™‚

Come back tomorrow to see the rest of my Day 1! I’m so excited about how it turned out!

Document Your December and Black Friday at The Lilypad

Yesterday was Black Friday in the U.S., the day for crazy sales and holiday shopping. Last year (for the first time) we braved the crowds and went shopping at ~6am, but this year I decided not to. We’re too busy, and didn’t really have much to buy. Instead, I did some very rewarding online shopping, followed by a quick dash to the mall at 10 AM – we visited 3 stores and didn’t have to fight the crowds. πŸ˜‰ But hands down, online shopping rocks. And the sale that is going on at The Lilypad on all Christmas and winter products is perfect to gear up for December Daily!

I successfully completed a December Daily album in the past two years, so I know what works and what doesn’t work for me. This year I decided to combine the December Daily album with Project Life (I wouldn’t have enough material and motivation to keep up with two albums at the same time!), so I’ll be using the Project Life concept (document the little things, use photo pocket pages) but in a mini album format. I am using an 8.5″x5.5″ binder by Martha Stewart from Staples. I chose this size because it’s perfect for hybrid, and I’m all for saving paper when I print. πŸ™‚ In 2010 I made all my foundation pages of the album ahead of time, because I was traveling in December. In 2011 I didn’t, because I was home and wanted to have the freedom to choose the design based on the photos I had for each day. This year, I will also go with the freedom approach :), but since the holiday products that have already been put in the store are so tempting, I have done a few pockets already. πŸ™‚ Here’s what I used.

Last year I started the tradition of our Elf on the Shelf, and I am excited to bring him out again this year. The tree went up yesterday, so I have a feeling he’ll make an apparition soon. πŸ˜‰ Here are a few other goodies I’ve used so far.

It’s no mystery that I love deer and reindeer (and glitter too! LOL), so these cards by Paislee Press had to go straight in my album. πŸ™‚ Here’s a peek at the pockets I’ve made so far.

I will be rearranging my pockets around once I start actually working on the album, but I think I’m off to a great start! πŸ™‚

Project Life – Week 43

This was a fun week to put together. I mainly used 3×4 and 4 x 6 Grid Cards, with some memorabilia from the week added in. All the little embellishments and stickers I used are from the fabulous Fact & Fiction line by Basic Grey.

Project Life - Week 43

I had several pictures this week (we went to the pumpkin patch, as you can see ;)) so I made an insert using the Design H pockets (I recommend the small variety pack to have a few different insert designs on hand). Here’s what the album looks like with the insert page turned.

Project Life - Week 43

And here’s a closer look at the front and back of the insert.

Project Life - Week 43

For the left page I used a Design C Photo Pocket page.

Project Life - Week 43

And for the right page I used a Design F Photo Pocket page. Lots of orange in the photos this week, but I love how the blue of the sky pops out! πŸ™‚

Project Life - Week 43

In Instead of having a full pocket dedicated to the title, I just added the title to a large photo.

Project Life - Week 43

We have apple trees in the backyard, and deer love apples. πŸ™‚ This adorable deer jumped right in our backyard and it was so funny to watch it eat the apples! Can you see it in his mouth? πŸ™‚ He gobbled it up in one piece! πŸ™‚ Too cute.

Project Life - Week 43

This fabulous “hello there” tag is from packaging of an order from Paper Coterie (see a few cards below) – I thought it was perfect to go with the picture of the deer! I loved the colors too, so I matched the red and blue in the rest of the spread.

Project Life - Week 43

I bought this stamp just because of the adorable deer, and it was perfect for this card! πŸ™‚

Project Life - Week 43

DH and I are big Dancing with the Stars fans, and we vote for out favorites. I always make sure we take screenshots of out votes to that I can include them in my album. I think it will be fun to look back at these, but who knows? Maybe we won’t even remember who these people are.. πŸ™‚

Project Life - Week 43

I’ve been holding onto this card by Marcy Penner (Hello Forever) for a while.. I got it in a class kit from Studio Calico, and I used it here because the blue matched my color scheme. I love the look!

Project Life - Week 43

Here’s my order from Paper Coterie. Again I added part of the packaging – it was so well designed that I wanted to keep it. That’s why I love Project Life so much!

Project Life - Week 43

I split this picture into two pockets, along with the heading. The date stamp is the smash one.

Project Life - Week 43

I added a label done with my DYMO. And that’s it for Week 43! πŸ™‚

Project Life – Week 25

Well, it certainly has been a while since I shared Project Life pages here! Let me pick up from where I stopped, Week 25. This was back in June. It was a quiet week, filled with little everyday things. DH was gone for part of the week.

Project Life - Week 25

I had a few pictures I wanted to include, so I used some of the photo collage templates by Designs by Lili – they come very handy for Project Life! I used photo pocket pages Design A and Design C.

Project Life - Week 25

I used a variety of pretty stamps this week, along with some tags from Elle’s Studio.

Project Life - Week 25

Here are the detailed shots.

Project Life - Week 25

For the title I used an alpha by Basic Grey, a tag and a stamp by Elle’s Studio. I used VersaFine toffee ink, which has a warm, lovely mustard color. I used the usual Smash date stamp.

Project Life - Week 25

I used some digital word art by Jenn Barrette to complement the silly pictures we took at Red Robin. While I was taking a picture of DH, I noticed that the Red Robin statue looked as if it were perched on DH’s shoulder, so I made him pose for a couple of fun shots. πŸ™‚

Project Life - Week 25

The journaling card on the left is by Valorie Wibbens, while the stamp I used on the right is by Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday – one of my favorite sets ever!

Project Life - Week 25

I love all the stamps by Amy Tangerine, and the latest one, Ready Set Go, is no exception! I used it to depict the fact that DH drove back home, and the fork+knife will come handy for all my food pictures. πŸ™‚ The Technique Tuesday Days of the Week stamp by Ali Edwards is a must have for Project Life!

Project Life - Week 25

It’s no secret that I love bunnies. πŸ™‚ I love this October Afternoon Woodland Park stamp!

Project Life - Week 25

Another great stamp set by Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday in this card and the following.

Project Life - Week 25

I also used an exclusive alpha stamp by Studio Calico.

Project Life - Week 25

The stamped “2012” comes from another great set by Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday. I hope you’re ready for some more Project Life pages coming soon! I photographed 3 of my latest spreads and will get them up shortly. πŸ™‚
