A Little Card and a Big Sale

Happy Tuesday everyone! Look what’s for sale for only $2 today:

This collab is gooooorgeous! 😉 I used it a while back for this frame that hangs in my living room, and this weekend I made this pretty little card with it:

So cute! And I’m getting more and more in love with my cutting machine every day! Yes, the flower on the left of the bracket is cut out too.

I made another page for my art journal last weekend using some Polka Dot Plum goodies. 🙂

Very simple but pretty, isn’t it? 🙂

I’m In Love!

As I promised yesterday, I’m back to show you the amazing project I did thanks to my new cutting machine. 🙂

When I first saw this beautiful collab by Krista Sahlin and Jenn Barrette, I knew I wanted to do something hybrid-y with it. Especially with that gorgeous ferris wheel.

So since I’m an overachiever and a bit reckless at times, my 2nd project with my new Silhouette SD was this:

The result is just amazing! All pieces used above were cut individually. The wood paper is about 3.75×4.3 in size so I think you can appreciate the detail this machine was able to cut!
I’m looking forward to the long weekend so I can play more with my machine!

So Pretty!

I received some bad news yesterday: my grandma fell and broke her nose. 🙁 I am so upset and worried and being thousands of miles away doesn’t help. 🙁 I guess we just have to be thankful she didn’t break a leg or something else, but still…. 🙁 So to pick myself up I want to show you some pretties I made Monday night with my new Silhouette SD digital cutter. This was the first day I had it, and I’m in love!!

Since I wanted to start getting some Christmas cards done, I used this adorable kit by Mari:

(oh, and have you heard?! Everything in Mari’s store is 35% off through Sept. 5!!)

I made this mini cards/tags:

I know I am biased 🙂 but I think they are the cutest ever!!! 😉

I printed them out with no bleed, and the Silhouette cut them perfectly. Yay!! I have another more impressive project to share, but I’ll leave that for tomorrow. 🙂

Finally, Something to Show!

I haven’t blogged in like forever! I didn’t have anything to show to you (I’ve been working a lot on a very pretty project for the ScrapMatters September newsletter), but now I can share the card I did for today’s It’s in the Cards challenge:

I absolutely love this kit by Erica Zane, and all the add ons!

AND she’s having a birthday sale right now, so make sure you take advantage of it while you can!

Tomorrow I’ll have another little something to show you. 🙂

Long Weekend

I had a long weekend this weekend, because on Friday my boss decided our group should have a retreat on the lake. It was quite fun! It doesn’t feel like it was really a long weekend, with the CT call at ScrapMatters taking up all of my Saturday… Anyway, here’s the new, fantastic team:

I did manage to scrap a few pictures from the lake last night using only Sahlin Studio goodies:

And now I can also share the August SM newsletter project, also using mostly Sahlin Studio products 🙂

I am in love with my latest card:

You can’t really tell from the picture, but I used Glossy accents on the bone and alpha. I inked the paper on the bottom to make the paw cut out stand out and I think it turned out pretty cute!

This kit is gorgeous for hybrid projects: check out the beautiful texture in the patterned paper I used in my card!

Hybrid Travel Journal

In this month’s ScrapMatters newsletter I wrote a tutorial for a hybrid travel journal. I made my first travel journal back in March before my 5 day trip to DC and it’s the best thing I could have done! The pictures from that trip still lay mostly unscrapped, so it was a great idea to jot down the journaling during the trip. Plus, I really enjoyed carrying around with me this pretty album! 😉

I laminated the front and back cover and the internal dividers for protection and my album held up perfectly!
Here’s a look at a few of the internal pages:

I liked this project so much that I’ve been toying with the idea of making a December daily album to bring with me when we go visit our family for Christmas (we bought tickets on Sunday and I’m so excited!!)… We’ll see how that goes! 😉

Graduation Card

I have not been creating much lately… Busy with life, and with my photography assignments for the class I signed up for back in September – and I’m still on Week 5!! So that is my priority right now. 🙂

But of course I still do have a little something to show. 🙂 I cannot be completely scrap-free for long. Here’s a card I made for the It’s in the Cards challenge at ScrapMatters – this template is gorgeous!

I’m not sure you can tell from the picture that I used some Stickles on the tassel (that’s my new word for today and it stands for the ribbon that is attached to the cap 😉 ). This card was for a male so I kept the colors serious, but I think it turned out really well!

Showing Off a Couple Hybrid Projects with Red River Paper

Lately, I’ve been using exclusively Red River Paper for my projects. I was lucky to get a sample of their papers and they have a great variety of papers, all with excellent quality.

I made some hybrid coasters for the June newsletter at ScrapMatters and I love how they turned out!! I gave them to my DH for our 3rd wedding anniversary.

I used a spray sealer to protect the papers. I used the Red River Linen paper for this project – I love the texture of it! Here’s a closer look of the printed paper before I cut it out:

Don’t you just love that texture? 🙂 And the colors are so bright, too!

I am a big fan of matte papers for my hybrid projects. One of my favorite papers is the Polar Matte by Red River Paper. For this project, I tried the Premium Matte Plus paper (their second best matter paper after the Polar Matte) and was very happy with the results. I did this for the July Getting Hybrid challenge at ScrapMatters: bottle cap magnets! I asked DH what subject he wanted these magnets to be; he answered “something with bees”, so Britt’s kit was just the perfect one for me! 😉

And here are my magnets:

Glossy Accents

I used Glossy Accents and as you can see there is very little to no bleed at all (I LOVE Glossy Accents but they do tend to bleed colors, ugh) – the Red River paper did a great job. Aren’t these magnets adorable? 😉
Have a good weekend! I’m hoping to get crafty this weekend, even though my top priority is photography.
