Grateful

Jenn Barrette has a new kit out today. It’s a beautiful collaboration with Shawna Clingerman.

I love all the gorgeous elements in this kit, so much that I used them as the main component for this card:

Thankful for You card

Have a fabulous weekend! I have a few fun events planned, so I ‘m looking forward to that!

I am dying to share this project! I did it last night and I’m so happy with how it turned out!! πŸ™‚ Ju Kneipp and Tangie Baxter have teamed up to create a fantastic kit out today at Oscraps:

I used it to make a frame with collage houses and I am SO excited about how this project turned out!

Here are some details. The house on the left is all digi – it’s an element made by Tangie. And it inspired me to create my own collage houses. I had so much fun with this project! πŸ˜‰

With all the excitement for the Halloween Bash at The Lilypad this past weekend, I forgot to post a new card I did with lots of Sahlin Studio goodies, including some new releases and some October BYOC products.

How gorgeous are they?! πŸ˜‰ Here is my card:

I bought some Distress Stains by Tim Holtz and I had so much fun using them on this card!

ETA 10/19: I got a GSO at MeSoScrappy for this card too! πŸ˜‰

Natural Beauty

Jenn Barrette has a gorgeous new kit out today – and it’s 20% off today and tomorrow!

It’s a Fall kit, but with a very unique color palette! I am in love with it!! I used it to make a card:

Autumn Card

I apologize for the weird colors in the picture – I put the card together Thursday night and haven’t had a chance to take a better one in natural light since then. πŸ™ It also looks really flat, but there’s a lot of layering with the leaves.

Yay for Fridays!

Are you ready for another Friday of gorgeous new releases at The Lilypad? I admit I have gone a bit overboard this week, and I have a ton of new goodies to share with you today! πŸ™‚ But you’ll soon find out why I couldn’t resist creating with all these products – they’re too gorgeous to pass! First off, this amazing store collab:

It is obviously perfect for school-themed pages, but it’s also an overall awesome (and huge!!) kit well suited to scrap just about anything. Here’s my first page with it:

Where to Next?

And yes, that awesome brush alpha by CD Muckosky is included in the collab! πŸ˜‰ If you like this page, you might want to check out these quick pages because I have turned it into a quick page! There are also a bunch of fabulous add ons in the store today that coordinate beautifully with the collab, such as these:

So of course I had to make another page. πŸ˜‰

I am so in love with this page! πŸ˜‰ Next, these awesome ABC products by Valorie Wibbens:

and a couple of very cool alphas

that I combined to make yet another birthday page. πŸ™‚

Then, there’s a gem of a kit by Sara Gleason. This kit is so unique and fantastic! The elements are all handmade and they look so dimensional!

And there’s also a very convenient super template bundle pack by Amy Martin. You can’t go wrong with her templates!

And here is what I did with them:

Me You=Fun

Journaling:
We were out enjoying the weather and grilling, and you took a half dozen shots of us. None turned out well, but I like this shot anyway. πŸ™‚

Then there is this totally fun kit and alphas by The Tattered Pear:

and these gorgeous embellishments (again, they are add ons to the Wicked Smart collab, but they go well with practically anything!):

I used them to make this crazy page. πŸ˜‰ Not my usual style, but this story begged to be told this way! πŸ™‚

Here You Go

Journaling:
My mom sends me a card twice a year: on my birthday, and on my name day (July 24th). This year, come July 22nd, DH goes out to pick up the mail as usual, and then comes over to me with a big smile, handing me an envelope. “Here you go!” It was for me, from my mom. Putting 2 and 2 together, it was obvious that it was my mom’s card, but once again DH didn’t even remember what occasion it was for, and didn’t think it would have been nice to hide it for me until the 24th! Why do we always have to tell them everything?!? This was the face he made when I told him it was my name day card. πŸ™‚ Be sure that by the time my birthday card arrived in the mail, this time he remembered to keep it hidden!

Finally, this fabulous kit by Kaye Winiecki

was just perfect to make a birthday card for my grandmother, since Little Red Riding Hood was the one and only story I had her tell me over and over again! πŸ˜‰ So I fired up my Silhouette to make this:

That glitter took forever to dry, but I think it added the perfect touch! πŸ˜‰

New ScrapMatters Magazine!

I’m a bit late in posting this, but if you haven’t noticed already, the monthly newsletter at ScrapMatters has turned into a full-fledged Magazine. It’s a quarterly release, and it’s chock full of amazing inspiration! You can sign up here (in addition to the magazine, you’ll also receive the weekly new release newsletter). For this quarter, the topic is travel, and I made two very cute projects (if I say so myself) with a detailed tutorial. πŸ™‚ The first is a beginners project, a luggage label.

And the second project is more advanced but adorable: a magnetic tic tac toe game, perfect for road trips and more.

Home Sweet Home

Jenn Barrette has a new kit out today and it is gooooorgeous! I love the theme and the colors, everything is just perfect!

It’s 20% off throughout the weekend too! I made a card that turned out really well! I’ll give it to DH when he comes back from one of his business trips.

I have been more in scrapping mode than hybrid mode lately, but I love the two cards I’ve made this week. πŸ™‚

Friday Again!

It’s Friday already, and there are many, many gorgeous new products for sale at The Lilypad! First off, let me share these gorgeous leaves by Sahlin Studio:

They are so pretty! I was totally inspired by these leaf bookmarks by Ana Paula, so I crumpled up my leaves and used them to make a card. πŸ˜‰
I Pick You card

ETA: My card was picked on a new website, One Story Down!

Next, a basic white paper pack by Karah Fredricks.

But this isn’t just a plain white paper pack. The textures on these papers are fantastic!! And a gorgeous pencil sketched alpha by the queen of alphas, CD Muckosky:

I used them to make another page for my 2012 calendar:

Up next, a really cool kit by The Tattered Pear:

some unique acrylic elements by Amy Martin:

and an extraordinary alpha by one of this month’s guest designers at The Lilypad:

I made this page about the book club at The Lilypad:

Online Book Club

Journaling:
I’ve never been part of a book club IRL, but I’ve always wanted to. I just don’t have a group of friends to make it happen. So when they proposed to start an online book club at my favorite digital hangout, I was over the moon! We started in July, reading two books: The Giver by Lois Lowry and Matched by Ally Condie; in August we read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons; in September it’s Here Be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman, and we’re about to pick the books for the rest of the year.

and this one about my new e-reader!

My Kobo

Journaling:
Taking advantage of the closeout sales at Borders, DH got me a Kobo e-reader. I’ve never been interested in getting an e-reader, but when our friend Filippo came to visit and showed us his Kindle, I must say I liked it. I got my Kobo as an early birthday present and tried it out right away on a business trip. It was great not to have to pack two or three big books for the trip to the West Coast! I have resisted switching to e-books for a long time, but I must admit that there are just too many advantages: it makes traveling so much easier, it saves trees, it makes it possible for me to borrow books from the library (I just hate the used library books with the filthy covers!)… And as of this weekend, my Kobo also has a bright, fun pink cover+sleeve! We got the Kobo over the Kindle or Nook because it was the cheapest option, but I am really glad we did, because it’s the smallest one and it fits in one hand!
