More Cards

I made two more cards this week.. with my craft room still only halfway done, I don’t have much room to work, and my supplies are still mostly in boxes. But I’m glad I made time to play with another of my recent new purchases – the Thanksgiving stamp by One Little Bird.

I stamped the images with Tsukineko Versafine Onyx Black ink, and watercolored with distress oxide inks. Easy and fun!

I love how they turned out! I have a bunch more new stamps that I bought recently and haven’t used yet, so you’ll likely be seeing a few more cards here soon! 🙂

Cardmaking Kick

I’ve been on a cardmaking kick lately! I made these cards last month, before the move, and hadn’t gotten around to sharing them here yet.

This first card – a birthday card for my grandma, uses the 4″x6″ Floral Thank You stamp by One Little Bird, along with the 4×3 Parker alpha stamp by Jasmine Jones.

I stamped the flowers in black ink, then colored them with watercolors, and added some drops of gold mist on top. I even decorated the inside of the card, with some adorable stamps by Lizzie Mackay for Pinkfresh Studio.

For the next card, I used the 4″x6″ Floral Thank You stamp by One Little Bird again, this time paired with the Penny alpha stamp, which I stamped with Versamark ink on kraft cardstock, and colored in with a mermaid marker by Jane Davenport.

Finally, I made this last card again using the 4″x6″ Floral Thank You stamp by One Little Bird. I stamped it with distress oxide ink, then used Jane Davenport’s mermaid markers to color it in. I love how it turned out!!

I’ve bought quite a few new stamps lately, and I’m glad to have gotten some use out of this set, but I have plenty more that I haven’t inked up yet – better get working! 🙂

Merry Making – Snow Flurry

Here’s the second card I made in the Merry Making class. Here, I tried out this new snow flurry technique with embossing powder – once again, I’m blown away by how amazing this looks and how easy it is!!

It’s hard to photograph this card so here’s the detail:

I’m hoping to squeeze in some more time to catch up with the rest of the lessons. I’m having so much fun!

Merry Making

On the spur of the moment, Monday I signed up for the Merry Making class at Online Card Classes. I have never taken a class there before and decided to sign up because I liked the sneaks, but to be honest I didn’t have too many expectations. Plus, I am still getting settled in the new home and super busy, so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do much. But then I started watching the first two videos/examples, and I was blown away!!! I just had to try those techniques! So here are my first two cards. I love that I learned something new, and I love how these cards turned out!

The first card I made is this bokeh background. Love it! I used Distress Oxide inks for the background – peacock feathers, salty ocean, faded jeans and black soot.

A Page and a Sketch

I am in the middle of moving, which entails packing up my craft room. In doing so, I uncovered several leftover pieces of paper and cardstock, and embellishments. While I was gathering them together to put them away, I noticed they went together well, and this page was born. (Shhhh… I was supposed to be packing but ended up making this instead ;))

I love how this page turned out, and it’s made entirely out of scraps!

Here are a couple details:

I used this to make a sketch to be used in one of the LOAW (Layout A Week) challenges I am hosting at Studio Calico this month.

September ’17 Mixed Media Monthly at The Lilypad

Hello! I’ve been quiet lately as life has been throwing us a few curve balls (blah), plus I started boxing up my craft supplies and prepping for our move, so I’ve been quite busy. But then one night I sat down to play with the new Mixed Media Monthly collection from The Lilypad, and boy did I have fun!! Here’s what I made.

New Home Pages

Of course my main scrapbooking topic lately is our new home.. over the long weekend, in addition to cleaning and buying furniture, I dug into the July 2017 kit from Gossamer Blue (that I bought in their closing sale) and made these two pages.

I love the colors and variety of embellishments of the kit! This July kit, along with the ones for the past few months that I also bought :), was designed by Geralyn Sy (In a Creative Bubble).

ETA: yay, this page was chosen for LOTW (Layout of the Week) at Studio Calico!

I added some bronze stars and puffy stickers from my stash. This color scheme is very versatile, it would be great for fall pictures too!

New Home

Phew… finally it came through and it’s official: we got a new home!!! So I used the latest BYOC (Build Your Old Collection) from The Lilypad, which is released today and is 20% off the weekend, to scrap a couple of pictures!
