Retirement sale!

I’m back, finally! My mom was visiting for 2 weeks, and immediately after she left I have been stuck one whole week working on a very time consuming project at work. But I am back!! I made a little hybrid project yesterday and scrapped a page: the first after over 3 weeks of hiatus! It feels good to be creating again!! Unfortunately, though, I have some sad news: Molly DeCrow is retiring from designing. This is the very last chance to grab a few of her creations:

I’ll be back soon to share some P52 Cards pictures and a page. ๐Ÿ™‚

More iNSD Fun!

I’m late posting this, but yesterday some gorgeous new kits were released, and I really have to share! But let me start with something for today:

#1 Mom Card

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

Now, on to the goodies! Jenn Barrette has some fantastic new kits, all for sale 30% off in her shop.

I am SO in love with this kit!! I managed to do these 2 cards just hours before my mom arrived, but I can’t wait to scrap with this kit too!

I Love You Deer card

And look at these gorgeous collabs with Kristin Cronin-Barrow! One for books:

And the other for movies:

They will certainly come in handy to scrap about two of my passions! They also come as a bundle to save some $$$.

Changing gears, I have something else to show you, a quite extraordinary kit by Sahlin Studio and Ju Kneipp:

Boy, do I have some catching up to do!! All these kits are just sooo yummy!

iNSD Time!

It’s iNSD (interNational Scrapbooking Day) time! There are lots of fun events going on at ScrapMatters: an incredible 40% off sale, fabulous grab bags, and a free with $20 purchase kit!

Here’s the schedule of all the fun going on:

It’s also BYOC time at The LilyPad and Sahlin Studio has two very fun packs:

Also, check out Ju Kneipp’s guest products:

Aren’t those robots just plain adorable? ๐Ÿ™‚

And there’s more sales! Mari Koegelenberg’s store is 30% off through May 8! And Bree of Scrap’It Designs has a 30% sale and a giveaway on her Facebook page:

I think this is all the news I have to share for today. But I’ll have more fabulous products to share tomorrow!

iNSD and Other Designer News

With all the excitement for my mother’s visit, I forgot to post last week’s Project 52 Cards picture:

P52 Cards - Week 18

You can see the Week 18 card here.

This isn’t the best time of the year to have your mom come visit, with iNSD and all the fun activities in the digital scrapbooking world… Of course I am delighted that my mom is here and don’t regret a thing, so I’ll have to sit out on all of the digi fun and catch up later. It has only been 6 days since I made the last few cards (one is in the post below, and watch out for the other two in the next couple of days ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), but I am itching to create already! ๐Ÿ™‚ But in the meantime I can show you all the goodies my fabulous designers have created. Mari Koegelenberg has an amazing new kit out today:

I seriously cannot wait to scrap with it!!!!! It has the right combination of vintage/classic feel, gorgeous patterns and bright colors: right up my alley! She also has a coordinating grab bag:

It is such an amazing deal! Check out the previews in the store to see what’s included. Mari’s papers are so gorgeous for hybrid too, with rich textures and pretty patterns. I can’t wait to use these products! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am also very excited to tell you that Brianna Cox of Scrap’It Designs is back to designing after a break. She was the first designer who picked me as a CT member and I can’t wait to see what she creates in the next few months! She has already started with this gorgeous new kit:

It is so pretty! I see myself making a few crazy clustering pages with this kit. ๐Ÿ™‚ AND, there’s more: Bree is having a CT call:

She is so sweet and being on her team is lots of fun, so do apply! I will be back tomorrow to show you some more iNSD products and drool a bit. ๐Ÿ˜‰

May Memory Lane

Each month, Krista of Sahlin Studio selects one of her products to be featured in Memory Lane: if you use that product and post a page in her gallery at the LilyPad, you get a chance to win a gift card for her store! For May, these are the Memory Lane products:

They’re both gorgeous and I had never used them before, so Friday night, while I was waiting for my mom’s plane to land, I made a quick card. I think the colors of this kit are perfect for Mother’s Day:

Have a great week!

Refresh

I am having a crazy week, but knowing that I won’t be able to scrap for a while (my mom is coming tomorrow!!) I knew I wanted to scrap as soon as I saw Mari’s new release:

This kit was originally made when Mari competed in (and won!!) the DSA designer apprentice contest, but it has lots of yummy additions! I love the patterns of the papers, and the colors!

I went a bit crazy with the design of this page, but I love how the pattern of that paper shows through the cuts! ๐Ÿ™‚

Let’s see how much else I can squeeze in before my mom arrives. No matter how happy I am to have her  here, it will be tough for me not to create for over two weeks!

Surviving Easter

It has been a tiring weekend! First getting the house and food ready for our Easter guest, and then eating all the delicious food DH made. I’m almost glad to be back to work today! (almost) ๐Ÿ˜‰ DH got an Easter card for Project 52 Cards, Week 17:

Easter’s On Its Way!

I know, I know… I’d said that I wanted to stay away from hybrid this week so that I could focus on getting caught up with my P365 and getting the house ready for my mom’s visit… But when I saw the new Easter kit by Jenn Barrette, how could I possibly resist?? ๐Ÿ™‚

It is adorable!! The colors are perfect for Easter, the patterns so soft and delicious, and the bunny and chick are too cute for words! I love this kit! I made a quick but oh-so-cute project with this kit, an Easter centerpiece:

It will turn in handy, too, because we’re having a friend over for Easter, and this will look so nice on the dinner table! ๐Ÿ™‚ I also made a pretty card, but I will post that here tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do You LOVE Books?

There’s a gorgeous new collab in the ScrapMatters store today, from two of the April guest designers, Eva Kipler and Kate Hadfield.

I absolutely adore Kate’s doodles, and these will be so perfect for many pages! Bottle + glass of wine: check! Chocolate bar: check! Camera: check! Laptop: check! And so much more! But today I started by doing a page about my love for books. It sounds a bit stupid, but I had this big revelation a few weeks ago, and I wanted to document it. I had never thought about it, but DH is not a book lover. And this was quite a shock to me, since I have been raised up with love and books. ๐Ÿ™‚

A Lifelong Love Affair

Journaling:
Itโ€™s funny: Iโ€™ve known DH for almost 12 years, but Iโ€™ve only just realized that he doesnโ€™t LOVE reading. Sure, he likes it, but heโ€™s not crazy obsessed like me. I have always loved books. It started in kindergarten and grade school (I loved Spotโ€™s books and Roald Dahlโ€™s)and I really never stopped. My mom was just like me, and I never realized before that there are people who arenโ€™t like that. Of course, I know people who never read, like my grandma, or are intermittent, slow readers, like my dad and DH, but I never filled the dots. Anyway, we were out for dinner a couple of weeks ago, when I started telling him once more how he should really read a book that I loved, when I finally got it: he doesnโ€™t love to read. So I asked him if he liked to read as a kid, and he said he hated it! Thatโ€™s when I finally understood how blessed I am to have this passion. I couldnโ€™t live without books. Every few weeks or so, I feel the physical need to go to the bookstore to pick up a new book or two, and dream on…

I also plan to make a little hybrid notebook with this kit to record my reads (I am a bit of a control freak at times ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but it might not be for a while, with all the other stuff I should be doing first. ๐Ÿ™‚ This will be a busy weekend. We’ve invited a friend over for Easter and it’s the last weekend before my mom comes to visit (yay!). I am quite pleased with how this week went. Work-wise, I got a paper accepted in a journal, and two other papers accepted at a conference (earning me a trip to the West Coast this summer); scrap-wise, I made some good progress on my P365. Instead of finishing up one week at a time, I’ve decided to go ahead and get the journaling and photo selection and editing first, while my recollections are more fresh. I’ve done 4 weeks’ worth of pages this way already! I’m still only up to April 10 though, so more intense catching up is needed.
