That’s all for today, I’ll be back with  more goodies on Friday!

New ScrapMatters Magazine!

I’m a bit late in posting this, but if you haven’t noticed already, the monthly newsletter at ScrapMatters has turned into a full-fledged Magazine. It’s a quarterly release, and it’s chock full of amazing inspiration! You can sign up here (in addition to the magazine, you’ll also receive the weekly new release newsletter). For this quarter, the topic is travel, and I made two very cute projects (if I say so myself) with a detailed tutorial. πŸ™‚ The first is a beginners project, a luggage label.

And the second project is more advanced but adorable: a magnetic tic tac toe game, perfect for road trips and more.

Now, to brainstorm the projects for the next number! πŸ™‚

Home Sweet Home

Jenn Barrette has a new kit out today and it is gooooorgeous! I love the theme and the colors, everything is just perfect!

It’s 20% off throughout the weekend too! I made a card that turned out really well! I’ll give it to DH when he comes back from one of his business trips.

I have been more in scrapping mode than hybrid mode lately, but I love the two cards I’ve made this week. πŸ™‚

Friday Again!

It’s Friday already, and there are many, many gorgeous new products for sale at The Lilypad! First off, let me share these gorgeous leaves by Sahlin Studio:

They are so pretty! I was totally inspired by these leaf bookmarks by Ana Paula, so I crumpled up my leaves and used them to make a card. πŸ˜‰

Next, a basic white paper pack by Karah Fredricks.

But this isn’t just a plain white paper pack. The textures on these papers are fantastic!! And a gorgeous pencil sketched alpha by the queen of alphas, CD Muckosky:

I used them to make another page for my 2012 calendar:

Up next, a really cool kit by The Tattered Pear:

some unique acrylic elements by Amy Martin:

and an extraordinary alpha by one of this month’s guest designers at The Lilypad:

I made this page about the book club at The Lilypad:

Online Book Club

Journaling:
I’ve never been part of a book club IRL, but I’ve always wanted to. I just don’t have a group of friends to make it happen. So when they proposed to start an online book club at my favorite digital hangout, I was over the moon! We started in July, reading two books: The Giver by Lois Lowry and Matched by Ally Condie; in August we read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons; in September it’s Here Be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman, and we’re about to pick the books for the rest of the year.

and this one about my new e-reader!

My Kobo

Journaling:
Taking advantage of the closeout sales at Borders, DH got me a Kobo e-reader. I’ve never been interested in getting an e-reader, but when our friend Filippo came to visit and showed us his Kindle, I must say I liked it. I got my Kobo as an early birthday present and tried it out right away on a business trip. It was great not to have to pack two or three big books for the trip to the West Coast! I have resisted switching to e-books for a long time, but I must admit that there are just too many advantages: it makes traveling so much easier, it saves trees, it makes it possible for me to borrow books from the library (I just hate the used library books with the filthy covers!)… And as of this weekend, my Kobo also has a bright, fun pink cover+sleeve! We got the Kobo over the Kindle or Nook because it was the cheapest option, but I am really glad we did, because it’s the smallest one and it fits in one hand!

Whoa, that was a lot of stuff to share! πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend!

Summer’s Over

It really true that summer is over once Labor Day has passed. We’ve been having rainy, gloomy weather here this week! All the better to get into mood for Christmas. Yes, it’s time to get working on my 2012 calendars! This year I have not been doing well – I’ve only done one page throughout the year! It’s time to catch up, and I took advantage of this week’s Tadpole Tuesday and Wibbit Wednesday sale items at The Lilypad to do just that. πŸ™‚

I know I will be using these borders a lot!

I made the September calendar topper with these gorgeous projects, in addition to some of this month’s BYOC goodies:

For my next page, I used some other great templates by Amy Martin and adorable elements by CD Muckosky:

I modified this page to be my October calendar page. 3 down, 9 to go, plus the cover! πŸ™‚ Finally, I also used these other goodies on sale:

Check out this alpha, I.am.in.love!!!!!! It comes with a brush file too, and it is a must have, especially at this sale price!

I scrapped another birthday picture (I thought I was done scrapping my birthday, but I am not even close! πŸ™‚ ).

Birthday Pages

I’ve been having a good weekend so far, lots of relax and scrapping time. πŸ™‚ I finished scrapping my birthday pages using many of the new BYOC products:

I can’t say I am happy about having turned 30, but I’m trying to take it in stride. πŸ™‚

The Big Three-oh

Journaling:
I guess it would be pretty easy to let myself wallow in thoughts about how fast time is going, how many things I was hoping to get done before turning thirty, how different I was hoping my life to be. But why bother? I am happy with where my life has led me so far. And this year, for the first time in my whole life, DH has managed to take some decent pictures of me on my birthday (he says it’s because of my beloved 28mm lens πŸ™‚ )! There are good things to come.

It’s BYOC time at The Lilypad, and this month’s BYOC has such a pretty palette!

And here’s what I have done with it so far!
