4th of July Pictures Anyone?

How was your 4th of July? Ours was great: the heat wasn’t as bad as we feared and we spent a lovely day. First BBQ with friends, then fireworks. And my pictures of fireworks turned out better this year! Yaay!
Anyway, have you found the right 4th of July kit to scrap your pictures? I’ve fallen in love with this one:

And the next kit I’ll be downloading is this one:

Showing Off a Couple Hybrid Projects with Red River Paper

Lately, I’ve been using exclusively Red River Paper for my projects. I was lucky to get a sample of their papers and they have a great variety of papers, all with excellent quality.

I made some hybrid coasters for the June newsletter at ScrapMatters and I love how they turned out!! I gave them to my DH for our 3rd wedding anniversary.

I used a spray sealer to protect the papers. I used the Red River Linen paper for this project – I love the texture of it! Here’s a closer look of the printed paper before I cut it out:

Don’t you just love that texture? 🙂 And the colors are so bright, too!

I am a big fan of matte papers for my hybrid projects. One of my favorite papers is the Polar Matte by Red River Paper. For this project, I tried the Premium Matte Plus paper (their second best matter paper after the Polar Matte) and was very happy with the results. I did this for the July Getting Hybrid challenge at ScrapMatters: bottle cap magnets! I asked DH what subject he wanted these magnets to be; he answered “something with bees”, so Britt’s kit was just the perfect one for me! 😉

And here are my magnets:

Glossy Accents

I used Glossy Accents and as you can see there is very little to no bleed at all (I LOVE Glossy Accents but they do tend to bleed colors, ugh) – the Red River paper did a great job. Aren’t these magnets adorable? 😉
Have a good weekend! I’m hoping to get crafty this weekend, even though my top priority is photography.

July Daily Download

I know, I know, I haven’t blogged in like forever! I’ve just been busy with life, getting back in track after spending one week at a conference, but I do have some exciting news to share and a few projects to show off. 🙂

First of all, the Daily Download is back at ScrapMatters, and it’s a good one!!

Every day, head over to the forum and download one piece of a fabulous kit – I’ve seen it, and it’s amazing!! By the end of July, you’ll have a gorgeous kit, for free!

Next, let me see what I can show you… Let’s start with few LOs!
I’ve been slowly but surely scrapping my mom’s visit, so here’s anothe page for that (this is day 3):

Then I have a page for this month’s I’ll Pencil You In challenge at ScrapMatters: it’s all about getting out calendars for 2011 ready in advance.

This past weekend I finally got back in track with my photography course so I did a page about my passion for photography.

Isn’t this the perfect kit for photography? I love it!

That’s all for now – I have a couple of hybrid projects to post, but I will keep that for tomorrow. 🙂

Sweet Summertime

Amy and Lauren of Polka Dot Plum Designs have a new kit out today:

I love these colors! I used it to make 2 pages about some pretty findings in our garden:

I really enjoyed playing with this pretty kit! 😉

New PDP kit!

Amy and Lauren of Polka Dot Plum have a new kit out today – and I’m in love with it! 😉

I used it to make a page about how hard it is to fit all my interests in my busy, busy life. I love that jeans pocket!

Then I made another page about my mom’s visit, from Day 9:

I love the colors of this kit!

ScrapMatters Collabs

Two new collab kits have hit the ScrapMatters store, one last week and the other just today. They’re both huge and gorgeous!

This kit is packed with adorable elements, and I really love the color scheme! Here’s my page:

Happy Friday!

Ashalee Wall

I have a new crush. Ashalee Wall is guesting at ScrapMatters this month and I’m in love with her designs! I have to admit I didn’t know her (I don’t spend much time at other sites) so this was a fabulous surprise for me! I like her style so much that I used a few of her products to scrap a page about our 3rd wedding anniversary. 🙂 Here’s what I used:

And here’s my page!

Just Keep Scrappin’…

I made a few more pages about my mom’s visit (I’m nowhere close to being done with these, but unfortunately my crazy life is leaving me very little scrapping time lately!).

I made a matching page for the LO in the previous post:

This page is a perfect example of how when I am working on a page that doesn’t really convince me, adding things can turn it around and make me love it! I was struggling with the photo placement, but adding the floral brushes and the journaling really completed this page!
And with this I officially finished scrapping Day 1 of mom’s visit. 😉

Next, I finally downloaded the gorgeous collab by Mari and Nicole of Sugarplum Paperie. It is really fab!

This is Day 5 because I really wanted to use this kit and this pic of my mom and me was perfect for it!

I scrapped this no photo LO for Day 2 a few days back:

I just love the colors of this page!
Finally, I made a non CT page (gasp! 😉 ) and scrapped the last page for Day 2! 😉

I’ll be back later to show you another page I scrapped with goodies from one of the guest designers at ScrapMatters this month – I’m in love!

Play

Mari Koegelenberg has a new collab out today with Jude Toone:

The colors are just adorable! I used this kit to scrap another page about my mom’s visit (I have so many more pages yet to make! 😉 )

I’m having a crazy time at work, and unfortunately I don’t see the end of it!! :-S This is really too bad, because I want to scrap, scrap, scrap! 😉

He Said She Said

I was making a card today and, because for some reason I cannot seem to be able to print on only half a sheet of paper, I made another page for my art journal too to print along with the card. 😉 Am I the only one who tries to cover the most surface possible when printing one sheet of paper? 🙂

And in case this page made you wonder – yes, I did have a good weekend – eventually. 🙂
The worst part of my weekend was having to wake up early this morning (a holiday!) to drive DH to the train station. Oh well. I stopped at AC Moore’s on my way back home to buy some flowers and brads. 😉

As of now, my blog has widened to fit images 600 pixels wide. It was about time! 🙂
