Picture Week

I did 2 pages today so I’m here to share. BTW, I’ve developed a very bad habit as of late: I scrap in the morning before going to work… This is really serious: it proves how addicted I am! πŸ™‚ It started because I go in late on Tuesdays and Thursdays since I have class at 9:40 A.M., but I have a feeling this sneaky habit will not go away after next week, even though the semester is at a close! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, here’s the first LO, one for my favorite challenge at ScrapMatters, My Story Matters. This one was about childhood friends.
This girl was my best friend from kindergarten up to 6th grade, and my parents never took a picture of just the two of us, how sad is that??!
Then I scrapped another page with a picture I took today.
This week I took many gorgeous pictures. I started preparing my 2-pager for Project 365 and I’m in love with this week already! πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to finish it, but there’s 3 more days of taking pictures before I can do that. πŸ˜‰
SM points update: -3! πŸ˜‰

Making Fun of Myself

I only scrapped one page today (because I’m busy scrapping pages for the Motivational Album challenge running at TheDigiChick) but it’s a fun one. πŸ™‚

I did this for the Digidares and for one of the DigiScrapAddicts Scrap Off challenges. There’s a ton of contests going over at DigiScrapAddicts (best LO, best shadows, best 2-pager, cutest couple LOs etc!) and each contest has a $20 prize to a different designer’s shop.. I entered a bunch of LOs and it was really hard to pick one for each contest because you could only enter the same LO in one contest. This one is the only LO I did appositely to enter it in the contest. I love how it turned out. πŸ™‚

7 Points to Go

I’ve scrapped 3 pages today and I’m only 7 points away from my GC! πŸ˜‰

I did 3 matching pages with pictures from Friday.

And there’s more pictures, so I’ll do a couple more LOs.

The last LO was done for a Roadmap to Scrap challenge, here are the instructions:
  1. The main objective of this page is to use blocking. Either make your own, or use a template, but I would like to see AT LEAST 4 β€˜squarish’ blocks on your page.
  2. Use 4 or more papers, no less!
  3. Use as many pictures as you like. You may clip photos to your blocks instead of papers.
  4. Use a frame somewhere on your layout.
  5. Put something subtle behind your blocking. Either a stamp or a faded wordart, or a blended element.
  6. Use an alpha, but only for one single letter. This could mean the first letter of someone’s name. Or it could be the first letter of your title, and the rest you use a font. (example: the title β€˜Princess’ would use an alpha for the letter β€˜P’ and β€˜rincess’ would be typed up with a font)
  7. Use some sort of adhesive (stitch, staple, tape, etc.) to hold up some of your blocking.
This is really a beautiful kit!

The Weekend Is Over Already..

It’s amazing how the weekend always flies by really fast..

Here’s a LO with some pictures I took this week of the flowers in our garden.

The weekend is over, and I’m at -13 points from my GC at ScrapMatters. πŸ™‚

Preparing the Nest

This week I took some very pretty pictures of birds preparing a nest in the birdhouses in our garden, so I scrapped 2 matching LOs.

This second LO I did for a Roadmap to Scrap challenge at SM; these were the instructions:

  1. Choose an even number of photos, and plan to repeat one of those photos at least once to get your even number.
  2. Choose an even number of papers, and one of them must be white.
  3. Blend something onto your layout, an element, a photo. Anything.
  4. Repeat an element (the exact same one) at least 3 times.
  5. Use a word art.
  6. Use at least one ribbon or a piece of string (or both).
  7. Now, take your entire layout and mat it onto another piece of paper.
  8. Add whatever other embellishments you want, add a date, and also some journaling if you’d like.
I was RAKed by Maria with this pretty kit and I really love the pages I used it for!! πŸ™‚

Spring

Spring isn’t here just quite yet, even though we’ve had our share of warm days and the flowers have started blooming; we still get occasional days with lows below freezing point.. But spring is near for sure!

Yesterday I finished a LO with the pictures of the first signs of spring in our garden I took 3 weeks ago.

Some exciting events are being planned at ScrapMatters for May: May 1 is National Scrapbooking Day and they’re having a sale, and also a big competition to elect the Queen of Scrap. I would really love to reach 60 points so I can get a nice GC to use during the sale, but this means I have to get 18 points by April 30.. a bit tight for sure!! πŸ˜‰ We’ll see what I can do. πŸ™‚

When DH Is Away..

DH has been out of town for the past few days, that’s why I’ve been scrapping a lot of pages. πŸ™‚ I sure miss him a lot, but I’m very happy with all the pages I’ve done this week!

I did this for the My Story Matters challenge at ScrapMatters; this one was about starting school.

I even made it in the Gallery Standouts with this one! πŸ™‚
Then I did a matching page for Easter Bunny.

I know the colors don’t exactly match, but I just went with what the pictures inspired me. πŸ™‚

Wordart

I did a page for a challenge at ScrapMatters and it made me wish once again that I had Photoshop CS… I believe that if I had a program that allowed me to create text paths I would actually start loving wordart..Β I sure love the one I did for this page.

I gladly used the text path that was provided for the challenge, but I still wished I could tweak the path a little bit..

Easter Weekend

Gosh, I am so tired!! I wish we had an extra day off for Easter… :-/

We had a great weekend, but I’m really tired. I baked Easter cupcakes (LOs to come) and did very few scrapping..
Friday we had a new addition to our family πŸ™‚

I’ve been catching up on Project 365 lately so now I have weeks 1-10, 14-15 done. Hopefully I can get weeks 11-13 done soon. I joined the community at Weeds and Wildflowers because there’s a great incentive program going on there: that’s why I’ve managed to do weeks 14 & 15 on time! πŸ™‚
I will post the LOs here once I get the missing weeks done!

New Goodies!

Yesterday night I started playing with the goodies I picked up at Weeds & Wildflowers on Sunday. I took advantage at the 2nd birthday sale they had last week and got a lot of absolutely gorgeous stuff by Gina Marie Huff, including a huge alpha collection. πŸ™‚ I really love how this page turned out!
