Project Life – Week 19, Week 20 and Week 21

Here’s my long overdue Project Life update. I got behind when I went on a 1-week business trip, followed by my mom’s 2-week visit, but the sad fact is that even after that, I’ve kept getting more behind. But I do have hopes that my life will miraculously settle down (I’m having an awfully busy summer at work :-() and I can get caught up. I am not giving up, that’s for sure! Anyway, here are the last three weeks I completed.

I was not all that inspired by Week 19, but hey, it’s one more week documented. 🙂

Project Life - Week 19

I did not have much to document this week.. I was home alone until the weekend.

Project Life - Week 19

I guess it’s the color scheme that stumped me.. I do like how the right side turned out though, with the journaling cards – it must be a record, I used three cards from the Project Life Clementine kit on one page! 😉 Seriously, I never use the kit anymore, but I was delighted to dig up three cards that matched my color scheme so well!

Project Life - Week 19

I love the patterned paper on the top right. And I think the birthday card I made looks pretty cool too! 🙂

But let’s move on. Week 20 was a good week for me. I was home alone, but I had a major achievement. I LOVE love love love how this week turned out. How is it that my hybrid intensive pages are almost my favorite ones? 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

It’s pretty obvious that I put together this spread after getting my new desk – the Silhouette-cut elements give it away easily! 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

Bright colors, cut outs, stamps, and glitter? No wonder I love how this week turned out! 😉

Project Life - Week 20

Here are some details. I used distress ink for the stamping (it was the only color I had that matched the color scheme..) so the details aren’t 100% clear, but I like the look anyway.

Project Life - Week 20

I covered the star left over from the cut out with glitter. 🙂

Project Life - Week 20

I tried using a strip of paper in my DYMO. It totally worked! 😉 I love the look!

Project Life - Week 20

A nice mix of stamps and printed digi elements. This spread turned out to be really thick, thanks to those flowers I added to it! My album is getting quite thick already – it will soon be time to switch to a new binder!

Project Life 2012

And here comes Week 21. I tried something new this week too (once again, thanks to the new craft space): embossing! 🙂 I love it!!

Project Life - Week 21

Do not fear, it’s not that I need to remind myself of my name… 😉 That one you see there was a name tag and I had to block out some personal details in these photos. 🙂

Project Life - Week 21

This week is packed with photos and journaling! It made me think whether I am documenting too much.. I like to think that one day I will care about having all these details recorded, but I am not sure..

Project Life - Week 21

That picture up there in the top right corner was taken with my iPhone from the plane – the quality is awful in this picture of a printed iPhone photo, but in person it looks quite cool, with the moon framed by the plane’s wing. But let’s move on to some details! Here are the embossing stamps I made.

Project Life - Week 21

DH and I were on opposite sides of the country this week, so I had the idea of documenting it using a map of the US and our initials. This was my first experiment with embossing, and it was a go! 🙂 So I added more embossed details throughout the spread.

I was almost done with this week – I was missing only the bottom left pocket on the right page – when I decided to use a stencil mask and spray paint to create a background. It turned out pretty cute, albeit a bit too white. But then, as I was about to clean out the stencil, I noticed there was a lot of paint on the stencil, so I used it as a stamp on another piece of cardstock. Bingo! 🙂 This reflection had just the right amount of red to balance my page.

Project Life - Week 21

The journaling on it is kind of hard to read though… and once again, too many words!

I included several instagram photos from DH. I love the look with the paper strip down the middle.

Project Life - Week 21

Phew, that was a long post! Here are the credits for these 3 weeks.

Project Life – Week 17 and Week 18

I did manage to catch up quite a bit this weekend, although not completely, and I have two more weeks to share. 🙂

Project Life - Week 17

Very little digi on this week, and plenty of stamping.

Project Life - Week 17

I mapped out on Google Maps an itinerary for a trip we planned but I overlapped a screenshot for sharing because I don’t want to divulge where I live.

Project Life - Week 17

Yum, DH made pretzels this week, and they were so good! 🙂

Project Life - Week 17

I went green on green for the title. 🙂

Project Life - Week 17

Lots of fun stamping! 🙂

Let’s move on to Week 18. I really love how this one came together! Once again, I have almost no digi parts.

Project Life - Week 18

Here’s a closer look to this week.

Project Life - Week 18

The color scheme for this week is orange and navy. I found an old ink pad that I bought almost 5 years ago, well before I started any hybrid- even before I started digi scrapbooking in fact. It’s orange, and it stamps so well!! It’s a pigment ink, and now I am convinced I must buy more pigment inks. It stamps so easily, and the images are so clear. I am so excited! 🙂

Project Life - Week 18

Very simple to put together, I just had plenty of fun stamping.

Project Life - Week 18

I am so proud of how I made the eight out of a B! 🙂 Just a few more closeups, because I love these stamps so much. 🙂

Project Life - Week 18

And these…

Project Life - Week 18

And these! 😉

Project Life - Week 18

I have the first half of Week 19 done, but alas I had to stop. I’m currently 1.5 weeks behind, but it will get worse in the next few weeks, as I won’t have time to catch up. 🙁

Project Life – Week 15 and Week 16

Wow… almost 2 weeks since my last blog post! I have been really busy lately, and it’s not over… But I do want to share some of my Project Life. I am 3 weeks behind – I seem to be  constantly 3 weeks behind. Let’s see if I can catch up some during the weekend. Here is Week 15 – I love how it turned out!!

Project Life - Week 15

I used the April BYOC from The Lilypad for this spread. I love the colors!

Project Life - Week 15

I also put my Silhouette to good use this week to cut out a few words.

Project Life - Week 15

This week we went car shopping, so that was the theme of the week.

Project Life - Week 15

I used my new stamps from Ali Edwards, in addition to the Studio Calico ones. I painted the alphabet letters with orange acrylic paint, and spray misted the wood veneer car.

Project Life - Week 15

I am loving these screenshots of my and DH’s votes for Dancing with the Stars each week!

Project Life - Week 15

I cut out words for all the car manufacturers we visited this week. I love the doily stamp by Amy Tangerine!

Project Life - Week 15

Here I stamped and wrote on the digital labels by Valorie Wibbens. Cute!

Project Life - Week 15

I am in love with the wood veneer stars!

Project Life - Week 15

I tried stamping on the blue masking tape – it worked! The orange stamps here were stamped with acrylic paint.

This is one of my favorite weeks ever! Now let’s move on to Week 16.

Project Life - Week 16

I kept it simple this week, with little digi, mostly is paper and stamps. I love the look!

Project Life - Week 16

I had tons of pictures this week, since we bought our new car and I had to document that, but I didn’t want to have to add inserts. I think it worked out well! The entire left page is just about one day. 🙂

Project Life - Week 16

I spray misted the wood veneer car with a silver coat, so it looks like our car. 🙂

Project Life - Week 16

We recently got in the mail one of those ads – “you won a car!” – and as soon as I saw it I knew I’d be using that key in my PL album! 😉 The timing was just perfect! 🙂

Here is the list of supplies.

Project Life – Week 13 and Week 14

I finally have time to share some of my Project Life. I finished the first spread last week, and the second one this week. I am still 3 weeks behind, but I cannot seem to be able to catch up with all the things that are going on lately! Here’s Week 13:

Project Life - Week 13

I love these bright colors! I had started using the colors I eventually used for Week 14 on this spread, but they just didn’t work with the photos, so I started over and picked the colors from my little birds art piece. Much better! 🙂

Project Life - Week 13

I painted the birds wood veneers from Studio Calico to match the color scheme.

Project Life - Week 13

Sorry, I had to block out a few pictures on the top left. Here are some details:

Project Life - Week 13

Labels are hot for Project Life right now, and I am starting to see why! 🙂 I loved using these ones by Valorie Wibbens this week!

Project Life - Week 13

We still had the palm from last year, so I cut a few pieces to put in my album. I love how it turned out! The “yum” was cut out with my Silhouette. I used mist paints to spray the numbers.

Let’s move on to Week 14! 🙂

Project Life - Week 14

The color for this week was purple – inspired by the lovely kit by Jenn Barrette, it went perfectly with an insert I had from the chocolate we bought at church. 🙂

Project Life - Week 14

The main ingredients this week are digi papers, stamps, wood veneer, cutouts, and paint. I framed all the photos with the new frames by Designs by Lili – they are so cool!

Project Life - Week 14

I love how this week turned out! Here’s a few details.

Project Life - Week 14

I used acrylic paint to stamp. It took a bit of patience to get it right on the little stamps I used for the title, while it was much easier with the bigger letters. I love the look! I took a screenshots of my votes for Dancing with the Stars, and made DH do the same. I will have a similar inserts for the next few weeks too. 🙂

Project Life - Week 14

I stamped this doily stamp with acrylic paint and distress ink.

Project Life - Week 14

More stamping with acrylic paint.

Project Life - Week 14

Here I painted on the kraft colored alpha stickers – I love how they turned out! The calendar is a Facebook freebie by Mari Koegelenberg – I love it!

Project Life - Week 14

Love the painted wood veneer!

Project Life - Week 14

I did a mix of stamping here for the title – so pretty!

Project Life - Week 14

Here I painted the cutout from my Silhouette. Originally, I tried using this as a mask to paint the letters, but it got messy and it didn’t work out.

Supplies for Week 13:

Project Life – Week 12

I finished Week 12 last Sunday, but only got a chance today to take some pictures of it in daylight (not much of that, either, but it will do.. :)).

Project Life - Week 12

This was a fun week to put together. Since both I and DH were out of town (separately) for most of the week, I was expecting not to have that many pictures, but in fact I ended up having a ton of pictures! I brought my point-and-shoot with me, and DH took pictures on his phone. To save time and go with the travel theme, I used a lot of maps from my trip as background. I love the look!

Project Life - Week 12

Other than maps, I just used the grid journaling cards and stamped dates. I cut them and used other smaller pieces for journaling.

Project Life - Week 12

I love the look! The photo templates by Designs by Lili came in really handy to fit in all my photos this week. Here are some detail shots.

Project Life - Week 12

I was in California and I loved the spring blooms!

Project Life - Week 12

For the days I was back home (Sat. & Sun.) I didn’t use the maps as backgrounds.

Project Life - Week 12

Well, that’s that. I still am {one + current} weeks behind, and unfortunately I have work I need to get done this weekend, but it should be fine. I’m not that behind. 🙂

Supplies:
4×6 Photo Collages , 4×6 Photo Collages no. 2 and 3×4 Photo Collages by Designs by Lili
12 sticker from Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection
See and Stamp alpha stamps
Washi tape
Studio Calico stamps
Smash date stamp K&Ccompany

Project Life – Week 11

Well, well, I cannot believe how fast I put Week 11 together! I got it done this week in scraps of time, and I am quite pleased with how it turned out! Now I just need to do Week 12 (last week) and the current week to be all caught up. 🙂

I do have a reason for not working harder on catching up, though. I signed up for a 3-week art class (that started in Week 11), and I’m having so much fun with it that it’s hard to find time for everything! Add to that the fact that I was out of town last week (Week 12), and I am majorly behind with my crafty projects. But it’s all good! 🙂 Anyway, here’s the workshop I’m taking:

I am absolutely loving it! I am totally, completely new to all of these techniques, but it’s so much fun to try! I know I never would have tried these things out if it weren’t for the class. During the first week, I did my very first experiment with watercolors, and made these darling cupcakes:

I used this as a card for my mom’s birthday! I couldn’t believe I made it! 🙂 DH even paid me a huge compliment (very unlike him!), saying that I should sell these! 🙂
Then last night I added paint and modeling paste to the mix, and I made this:

Isn’t it just adorable?? But let’s back to my Project Life. 🙂 Here’s Week 11!

Project Life - Week 11

I kept things really easy this week, using only paper supplies (the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line). Here is a closer look at the two pages.

Project Life - Week 11

DH was out of town most of the week, but he was sweet enough to email me several pictures while he was away, so I included them in the album (I’m happy to report that I’ve made him addicted to instagram too! ;)).

Project Life - Week 11

I have not started working on Week 12 yet, but I plan to keep things super simple for that week too, so I hope to have something to share over the weekend.

Supplies:
Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection
See and Stamp alpha stamps
Washi tape

Project Life – Week 8, Week 9 and Week 10

I knew I would fall behind with my Project Life album the week of my thesis proposal, and indeed it happened. After Week 7, I didn’t do any pages until last week. Week 9 was the actual week of my proposal, but I had no time to do anything the week leading to it. So I found myself with 3 weeks to catch up, plus the current week. I am happy to report I have finished three weeks (8-10) two weeks ago. I didn’t have time to share pictures before now unfortunately, since it has been a super stressful week. But here is Week 8:

Project Life 2012 - Week 8

The Sunday of Week 8 was the Oscars ceremony, so I used the movie theme for the whole week. I went with a black, white and red color scheme. Here’s a look at the individual pages:

Project Life 2012 - Week 8

I was alone for most of the week, and didn’t have much to document other than a snow storm and some crafty shopping ;), but I still found out I had plenty of photos to fit in this spread. 🙂

Project Life 2012 - Week 8

I didn’t want to bother covering up the journaling (sorry… seriously pressed for time here!) so there are no closeups of Week 8. But that’s OK, because it means we can move along directly to Week 9… and Week 9 is a big favorite of mine! 😉

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

I went with products from the March BYOC at The Lilypad, and that never disappoints! 🙂 Here’s a closer look to the pages:

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

At the bottom left, top right and bottom right I used postcards/business cards from a few restaurants we went to.

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

I also had lots of fun using my new Studio Calico stamps this week. Here are some details:

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

I used digi stuff, stamps, and alphas. Fun!

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

I stuffed all kinds of memorabilia in this pocket! It is very dimensional, and I attached everything with washi tape. Fun!

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

More alpha stamps and stamps mixed in with digi cards.

Project Life 2012 - Week 9

Gosh, these colors make me so happy! All right, let’s move on to week 10 now. I made an insert using a 6″x12″ pocket since I had some extra photos this week. Here’s what the full spread looks like, with the insert:

Project Life 2012 - Week 10

Project Life 2012 - Week 10

And here are the individual pages. Left:

Project Life 2012 - Week 10

I scanned a coupon from Starbucks (bottom left) since I loved how it looked. 🙂

Insert (front and back):

Project Life 2012 - Week 10

I used a business card from the restaurant (blocked out, sorry). I did lots of stitching this week, which was fun since I hadn’t done any for a few weeks! For the inserts, I made 3 6″x4″ cards for each side, and stitched them together.

And right:

Project Life 2012 - Week 10

(again, I blocked out the business cards in these photos)

In week 10 DH and I went away for 2 days (he was on a short business trip, and I went along), but it was a getaway full of drama… I tripped in my laptop’s power cord and the computer came crashing down from the bed to the floor… Ack! But I was incredibly lucky. Not only didn’t the laptop suffer significant damage (only the screen wasn’t working anymore), but my DH was able to open it up and fix it, so it is working just as before! Phew! But let me tell you, I passed several minutes of pure terror!

Here is a (somewhat complete) list of supplies used for these weeks:

I already have half of my Week 11 done, so I hope to be able to share that somewhat soon. 🙂

Project Life – Week 7

I am so excited to share Week 7 of my Project Life. I am completely in love with this spread, but it’s no surprise really, since I mostly used products from the February ’12 BYOC at The Lilypad, one of my favorite collections ever! I added some of my recent purchases (Thickers alpha and the new Dear Lizzy release) to boot! Plus it was Valentine Week, and everything came together just right. I finished the spread Friday night, and took pictures Saturday morning (with good light for once!).

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

The biggest challenge for me this week was to fit in all the photos. I started printing out a few filler cards from the BYOC, and since I loved them all, I didn’t want to leave any out. 😉 Note to self: print out pictures out first, next time! 🙂 Here’s a closer look to the pages:

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

I used some pieces from my new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection here. The strawberry paper, the pink paper, and the pink sticker alpha. I’m so happy I got it just in time to use with this week, since the colors matched so well!

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

And here are a few of my favorite details of this spread.

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

Once again, my title card borrowed heavily from a card I recently made. I just love this foam alpha, and I’m glad I overcame my hoarding tendency and used it. 🙂

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

These two pictures were taken with Instagram on DH’s iPhone (I just made him install it, and we’re loving it!). 😉 Here are a few of my favorite cards this week:

Project Life 2012 - Week 7

1. I am completely in love with the design of the Starbucks Valentine cup!
2. These wood veneers came in just this week along with my Dear Lizzy order, so I had to use them right away. 😉 I sprayed this one with a light pink mist.
3. This card is inspired by a movie we watched and loved. I think it’s so cute and in fact I turned it into a card for DH as well! (but of course the first thing DH said when he saw it was that the blue birds are not parrots as they are supposed to. Ugh!!)
4. I love the idea of recording our weight on this pretty scale! I must do it again! I also loved using the little journaling pieces on top of the cards.

Here’s what I used this week:
Polaroid frame from Vintage Vogue Elements by Sahlin Studio
Becky Higgins Project Life Clementine kit
Various elements from Love+Grace collab – including “HAPPY” bingo card and LOVE tiles
Valentine’s Day tag and from Puppy Love by Jenn Barrette
Paper and embellishments Vintage Valentine collab by The Lilypad designers
Camera from Love In My Lens by CD Muckosky
Speech bubbles from Classroom Cupid Embellishments by Britt-ish Designs
Whimsy Love Filler Notecards by Gina Miller
You and I elements by Rachel Young
Lovey Dovey journal cards by Emily Merritt
Customizable Journaling Cards No. 3 and Be Mine freebie by Designs by Lili
Where Bluebirds Fly by Kaye Winiecki
Scale from Happy and Healthy for Life by Jenn Barrette
Word art and arrow from Wishes Wings by Leora Sanford and Kitty Designs
For the title card:

Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection
Studio Calico wood veneer asterisks
Smash date stamp K&C company
Pen: Micron 03
Washi tape from InTheClear

Project Life – Week 6

It’s time to share another week of my Project Life album! I did all the photo editing over the weekend, then put my spread together Monday night. I love how this week turned out!

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

On the left page I had papers from Crate Paper (the back of the ones I used last week), and I found that the Grandma’s Dresser kit by Sahlin Studio matched them really well.

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

I printed out some accents and a card, and I wanted to print out some papers as well, but I ended up not having room because I had so many pictures. 🙂 I really wish I had room to add some more touches of yellow on this page though!

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

I had fun sprucing up the journaling cards with digi labels from the kit!

This week more than ever, I am so frustrated at how poorly the pictures of my pages turned out. So let me show you the digi version of my photographs in this week’s spread. First off, I have to share my latest purchase.. a vintage Dymo label maker!!

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

I eyed this in action on Tim Holtz’s blog several months ago (Tim always has the coolest finds…), but tucked it to the back of my mind. But when I started PL, I started wanting one really bad. I used to have a Dymo label maker as a kid (a plain kind with just a fixed font), but my mom cannot find it anymore. Then, when I saw that the new Smash line revealed at CHA will carry a label maker (i.e., I will probably be able to pick up replacement tape at AC Moore or Michael’s), I decided it was time for me to hunt down a Dymo label maker. They do make a new model of this label maker, with 3 interchangeable font wheels, and it is really cheap too ($17.51 on Amazon), but I decided to go with the vintage label maker because as far as I can tell from the photos the cursive font in the new model is different from the old one – and I am absolutely in love with that cursive font. ♥♥♥ I got it on eBay and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve recently used it for cards too. Fun!

Here I got creative editing some pictures taken in very low light with DH’s iPhone:

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

These bagel pictures (free bagels from Bruegger’s for their 29th birthday!) were taken with my DSLR.

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

Again, a collection of iPhone pictures taken when we were out grocery shopping:

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

Finally, more DSLR shots:

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

DH requested a new portrait, so I was happy to oblige. While I was at it, I also asked him to pose for my P52 Cards shot – and if further proof was needed that DH is really a pain and always complains about me taking pictures, check out how he held the card in that middle picture. Upside down!! Like he couldn’t care less… sigh. 😉 And the funny thing is I noticed it only after taking the shot! 😀

Project Life 2012 - Week 6

All these photo collages were put together using digi templates by Designs by Lili (yes, the same designer who created the Clementine kit of Project Life!). They are such a time-saver! They also make the decision process of which photos to include much easier, since you can fit many photos in one slot of the page protector.

Here is what I used for this week’s pages:
Crate Paper Restoration kit
4×6 Photo Collages , 4×6 Photo Collages no. 2 and 3×4 Photo Collages by Designs by Lili
Grandma’s Dresser by Sahlin Studio
Winter wonderland word strip from Snow Bunny by Jenn Barrette
Dymo label maker
Smash date stamp and polka dot tape K&C company
Pens: Micron 03 + Faber Castell Pitt

Project Life – Week 4 and 5

I was late finishing up Week 4 of my Project Life, so I’m posting it along with Week 5. These past two weeks I have used little or no digi products, and digged into my (tiny) paper stash instead. Here’s Week 4:

Project Life 2012 - Week 4

I was not into PL this week. I just wanted to get it done and get on the computer to scrap with all the new BYOC releases at The Lilypad, so I tried to simplify the process and just used the Clementine kit. I don’t quite love how the spread turned out, I’m not exactly sure why.

Project Life 2012 - Week 4

It isn’t a photo processing error – I am that red when I finish running, and I wanted to get a picture into my album. 🙂

Project Life 2012 - Week 4

I included concert tickets and the business card of the pizza place we ate at in the last pocket, so I had to block it out. Here’s what I used for Week 4:
Becky Higgins Project Life Clementine kit
Smash date stamp and polka dot tape K&C company
Heart from Today Journal Cards by Valorie Wibbens
Calendar by Erica Hernandez
Pen: Micron 03
Washi tape from InTheClear

Let’s move on to Week 5! I still don’t love this page 100%, but I do like it better than Week 4. 🙂

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

I used the Clementine kit and some paper supplies this week – a 6×6 paper pad and embellishments from the Restoration collection by Crate Paper. I have been holding onto this kit for over one year without using a single thing, so it was definitely time to break it out.

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

I wanted to try something new this week, so I decided to use Design E – the four 6×6 page protector.

Here are a few detailed shots.

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

I used the back of the journaling card from last week. I find it annoying that it doesn’t fill up the pocket – it looks like it might slip out, so I will probably add some washi tape to the opening to keep it secured.

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

Finally breaking out these cute chipboard pieces! They were perfect to finish up my plain journaling cards.

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

I made a little chart to track our weight loss journey. And here come the 6×6 pages:

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

I consider this as the first paper page I ever scrapped. I had a hard time figuring out how to fit in the long alpha in the 6×6 size, but it worked out in the end.

I love this page! But it’s because I love this paper so much!

Project Life 2012 - Week 5

This was simple to put together, but I like how it turned out.
