Lovely Weekend

I spent a lovely weekend out of town with DH – it was just great, only too short! I took Monday off and came home mid-afternoon. We really had a wonderful time (and I took 3 GB of pictures in just 2 days – crazy!!), but I have so many things to catch up with this week!

Friday I managed to squeeze in the pages for my June monthly summaries for the challenge at the DigiChick, using Mari’s gorgeous Happiness kit – perfect for these summery, colorful pages.

This is now the 6th month I’ve done with these templates, and I am not in the least bit tired of them! They’re just gorgeous!

Oh, some more news: I didn’t make it in ScrapOrchard’s CT, but I must confess I’m quite relieved! I entered the contest because I cannot resist a good competition, and I had so much fun playing along with those lovely kits, but I must say I’m more than happy with the CT spots I have. OK, I’d still love to land a couple more spots for my favorite designers (hello, Minna!) and would die for a spot at TDC (*sigh*), but for now I’m more than satisfied (*thrilled*, actually!) with the teams I’m on – each and every one of them was a dream come true! I wish I could do more for each of my designers, because I really love them all. Alas, my time is limited, and while I’m not overwhelmed by my CT spots, they sure keep me busy! 🙂

4th July Page

When I saw the kit Old Glory by GG Digital Designs, I couldn’t wait for the 4th of July to arrive so I could use it!

It’s really a beautiful kit! And here’s my first page using it:

I plan to do at least another page with the fireworks! 😉

Comical

Amy Sumrall has a new kit out today, Comical: a collab with Laura of Simply Scraps (and she’s a fellow CT member in Amy’s fun team, too!). It’s 20% off today and it’s a hilarious kit:

I did this page with it and I had so much fun playing with the kit!

I didn’t actually take any picture while we were trying to retrieve my lens cap (too much drama!! 😉 ), but I wanted to record this memory and using the journal tags was the best way to do it.

The Final Round

The final week of the CT contest at ScrapOrchard has arrived and I must say I’m glad it’s over. It was tiring and nerve wracking, especially because I had to work on the assignments during the week, and with work and DH I was always worried I might not have time to do my best. Anyway, I posted my last page yesterday morning, and now I only have to wait until next Monday, when they announce the winners.

I don’t love this page as much as the others I did for the contest.. I spent more time on it than I did on the others, too! 🙂 I think because for the other weeks I had to stretch my creativity more, because I had to use kits I don’t usually scrap with, so I ended up with pages that were totally me but not my usual pages at the same time.
The gallery is bursting with talent so I don’t think I’ll make it, but I had a blast throughout the contest and I got to try out my style with fantasy kits too.

Two Dollar Tuesday

It’s Tuesday, and this means there’s a new great deal at the DigiChick. Mari Koegelenberg’s brand new mini kit, Happiness, is for sale today for only two bucks!!

Take advantage of this amazing deal, today only!! Don’t you just love those colors? 😉

Also her adorable Field of Dreams is for sale today:

A Few More Pages

I have a few more pages to share from this weekend.

I did a 2-pager for the new My Story Matters challenge at ScrapMatters, about summertime as a child. I use the fun and pretty new kit by Jeni Hopewell, Happy, Happy Birthday!

I scrapped this using pictures from my first summer, because as a child all my summers were spent in the same locations and I plan to make more pages with pictures from later years.

I also started playing with a gorgeous kit by Juno Designs, The Good Life:

Finally, but I cannot share this, I did a hybrid project I’m very proud of. I cannot share it because it’s for the first challenge I’m hosting at ScrapMatters, and it’s starting on the 23rd. I cannot wait! 😉

Double WOOT

Unfortunately the long weekend is over, and going back to work is brutal! We spent a nice weekend: didn’t do anything special, but it was really nice.

I was thrilled to see my keyholder frame using Amy’s Berry Sweet featured in the Hot Hybrid Gallery Picks in July’s DST Insider!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my project in there!!! 😀

Also, I’m one of the 40 scrappers who made it to the final round of the CT contest at ScrapOrchard and though only 4 were cut this round, I doubted I’d make it so far, so I’m super happy!! 😉

I’m all caught up with my P365:

I took pictures of the firework display in our town but was so disappointed. First of all, I was disappointed by the show: it lasted only 25 minutes, while last year it went on for over an hour! Then, I was disappointed by most of my pictures – but I did get a few good ones, at least! 🙂
